Koudemain Ste Lucie Programme - Brief Description - Achievements - Challenges - Lessons Learnt
POVERTY ANALYSIS (2005/06)28.8 % of the Saint Lucian population cannot
afford the food and basic non–dietary goods needed for proper functioning by human beings on a daily basis (poor population)
This represents an increased from 25.1% in 1995
1.6% of these persons are unable to obtain the requisite kilocalories for the proper functioning of the human organism (indigent)
This Represents a significant decrease from 7.1% in 1995 .
POVERTY ANALYSIS (2005/06)21.4 % of households were poor
1.2% of households were indigent
40.3% of the population, given their current consumption patterns are at risk of falling into poverty should any adverse natural disaster or economic shock eventuate.

households and help them graduate out of their situation.

It is necessary that the programme be supported by a well designed, integrated information system.
Psychosocial support is a core component of the programme
