The SRT HEMI V8 was developed by increasing the bore of each cylinder, increasing compression
ratio, redesigning the intake and exhaust system for better airflow, and increasing engine speed
and endurance.
➤ The 5.7-liter HEMI V8 engine with Multi-Displacement
System (MDS), standard on 300C, provides best-in-class*
340 horsepower and 390 lb-ft of torque. It regulates
between four and eight cylinders, as needed, for up to 11
percent better fuel economy at cruising speeds.† MDS
allows the engine to seamlessly switch between four and
eight cylinders. The engine idles on eight cylinders for
maximum smoothness, uses all eight for acceleration and heavy loads, but uses only four cylinders
when cruising even at 60 mph. The Fuel Economy Mode Display notifies the driver when in
fuel-saver mode.
➤ The 3.5-liter High Output V6 engine, standard on Limited and Touring, uses a dual-intake manifold
for 250 horsepower and 250 lb-ft of torque.
