2008 Myrtle Beach INVITATIONAL

I can’t believe you left our clubs in the room!

elcome to the 2008 Myrtle Beach Invitational. The golfing highlight of the year! We are glad you could join us and hope you have a great time. The enjoyment of golf and the fellowship with friends

is what this tournament is all about!

We now have our own website! The URL is http://www.mbi-golf.com. This will be the last itinerary that will be printed and distributed to our golfers. Starting with the 2009 tournament you will be able

to print the itineraries directly from our website. The website will contain information about past tournaments, photos and scores. It is a work in progress so if you have any suggestions for the website please let

Scott Glawson know.

The tournament has been going on since 1987. It takes the efforts of quite a few people to pull it off. We are always looking for volunteers to help out. Below is a list of the committees and their members. If you would like to volunteer,

have a suggestion that could improve the tournament or simply have a question, just contact any of the committee

members listed below. They will be glad to help. If you happen to play with one of these guys give them an “Atta-Boy”, they deserve it.

RULES COMMITTEE: The rules committee meets about three times a year and works out most of the details of the

tournament. They vote on courses to play, rule changes, formats of play and accommodations. This committee has final say on all aspects of the tournament.

Tim Bailey Marshall Baynard

Leroy Earley Ronnie Harrill Harry Harrelson Jimmy Harris

David Holland Tony Fowler

SCORING COMMITTEE: The scoring committee is in charge of the computer programs that calculate the scores,

collecting and verifying scorecards and implementing any changes from the rules committee that may affect scoring.

Rooming List

Marshall comes home from his Saturday morning

dogfight, and his wife asks, "Why don't you play golf with Charlie Matheny anymore?"

Marshall replies,"Would you want to play golf

with somebody who cheats in virtually every single game, swears like a foul-mouthed sailor, lies about

his score, and doesn't have a good word to say about anybody else on the course?"

"Of course not" replies his wife.

"Well," says Marshall, "neither would Charlie

Matheny!"

Dogfight The dogfight will pay $240 for the winning team on the front side and $240 for the winning team on the back side. In case of a tie on the front side, the winning team will be selected by scorecard. We will start at the 9th hole and go backwards until we have a winning team. If after nine holes there is still a tie, we will start with the #1 handicap hole for the front side and continue on that side until we have a winner. In case of a tie on the back side, the winning team will be selected by scorecard. We will start at the 18th hole and go backwards until we have a winning team. If after nine holes there is still a tie, we will start with the #1 handicap hole for the back side and continue on that side until we have a winner. In case of a tie on overall score, the winning team will be selected by scorecard. We will start with the #1 handicap hole for the course and continue until we have a winner.

Calcutta We will have a calcutta at the end of each meeting. You are NOT obligated in anyway to participate. It is 100% optional. The calcutta has a $240 per team limit. Each team will have the opportunity to purchase one half of their team from the winning bidder. The calcutta will pay two places, 70% for first place and 30% for second place. In case of a tie on overall score, the winning team will be selected by scorecard. We will start with the #1 handicap hole for the course and continue until we have a winner.

Meeting Room The meeting room will be in the Cayman Condo Tower located on the 3rd floor of the permanent section of the facility. “Meeting Room” should be written on the door. We will meet there at 8:00pm each evening. We have been given the use of this meeting room as a gift and the Caribbean staff expect us to be considerate and keep the noise level down while in this part of the building as there are residents who live there for most part of the year. If you cannot make the meeting please inform someone of your intentions concerning the calcutta and skins. All money for the calcutta and skins is to be paid before that night’s meeting has ended.

...and you guys were

giving me hell about my flip-flops?

I am NOT in it for the money!

The schoolteacher was taking her first golfing lesson. "Is the word spelled "p-u-t" or "p-u-t-t"?" she asked

the instructor. "P-u-t-t is correct," he replied. "Put" means to place a thing where you want it.

"Putt" is merely a vain attempt to do the same thing.

The game face is ON!

C'mon Randy!

Even Johnny can make

that one!

A golfer set up his ball on the first tee, took a mighty swing and

hit his ball into a clump of trees. He found his ball and saw an

opening between two trees he thought he could hit through.

Taking out his 3 wood, he took another mighty swing, the ball

hit a tree, bounced back, hit him in the forehead and killed him. As he approached the gates of Heaven, St. Peter saw him

coming and asked, "Are you a good golfer?", to which the man

replied, "Got here in two, didn't I?"
