Executive Director of
Mooseheart child city

Scott D. HartScott D. Hart
Scott D. Hart is Executive Director of Mooseheart
Child City & School, responsible for all functions of the chil-
dren’s community in Illinois founded and supported by the
Moose fraternity. He has served in this post since March
2003.
Scott’s appointment to Mooseheart’s leadership
capped a steadily rising 12-year career as a child-care pro-
fessional. A native of Henry, IL, Scott came to Mooseheart
in 1991 as an in-home caregiver with his wife, Christie, fol-
lowing his graduation from Illinois State University. He
earned his bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice Sciences
1991 at Illinois State University and master’s degree in
Human Service Administration 2002 at National Louis
University.
Scott joined the Moose in September 1994 as a mem-
ber of Batavia, IL Lodge 682. He also joined as a Charter
member in December 2006 in Mooseheart, IL Lodge 2655
where he served as Charter Governor 2006-08. Scott joined
Mecca Moose Legion 9 in 1999.
A member of the 75 Division of the Moose 25 Club,
Scott received the Fellowship Degree of Honor in 2008.
Scott and Christie Hart are the parents of six young
children; the Harts reside on the Mooseheart campus.

President Thomas H. Ziegler

Toledo, OH 43617

Welcome to the 84th Annual Convention of the Ohio State
Moose Association, being held at Convention Headquarters at the
Holiday Inn Cleveland South at Independence, Ohio
How gratifying it has been to see Ohio Moose members in
such prominence in the ‘big’ picture. We have a former Ohio Past
President and Past Secretary and Past Governor William B Airey
as our Director General; we have Danny Albert as our new
Supreme Prelate; and we have Don R Eisel as Past Supreme
Governor, to name the obvious! And if you visit Mooseheart and
Moosehaven, you’ll see Ohio’s name on many important edifices!
Did you keep track of our membership effort in the last
three months? Wow! Now if only we can get a good jump in this
new MooseYear!
Let me also give thanks to the members of the Executive
Board and the Advisory Board who kept me on the straight and
narrow all year long. Without their dedicated assistance, I’m sure I
would have made mistakes that we, as an Association, didn’t need
to have!
Dwaine, John, Steve, Jim, and Ed -- couldn’t have done it
without your expertise and support! Thanks!
Fraternally yours,
Thomas Ziegler
August 2012

Deputy Supreme Governors are important people in
the great scheme of things each year, for they obviously
represent the Supreme Governor himself; thus, they are
sent in to help a Lodge get out of trouble, for example, or
they bring honor to a Lodge as a visitor who represents
Moose International.
This year, Ohio is honored to have two individuals
with much Moose experience to step into the role of Deputy
Supreme Governor -- Fellow Brian Chew, Mansfield Lodge
341, and Fellow Brad Ritenour, Dover Lodge 707.
You will shortly be hearing from Regional Manager
Dwaine Brown with regard to the schedule of each Deputy
Supreme Governor so that you too might slate a trip to a
nearby Lodge to coincide with a visit.
See you then!
