World Weekend of Prayer

‘The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy

I came that they may have life

and have it abundantly’ John 10.10

‘and Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favour with God and men’. Luke 2v52

Wisdom

‘Chose my instruction rather than silver, knowledge rather than

choice gold,

for wisdom is more precious than rubies and nothing you desire can

compare with her’

Stature

‘You hem me in, behind and before, and lay your hand upon me’ Psalm 139 v 5

‘I praise you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made’ Psalm 139 v 14

Favour with God

‘I am the vine; you are the branches.

If a man remains in me and I in him, he will bear much fruit;’ John 15

v 5

Favour with men

‘defending the fatherless and the oppressed,

So that mere earthly mortals will never again strike terror.’ Psalm 10 v

Lord Jesus,We thank You for showing Your children Your power, Your

endless love and great mercy. We ask for the children of this world to grow up with food, water, family, education and love, just like You did.

We pray for all the churches and organisations to continue fighting for the wellbeing of children at risk. Thanks for listening to the prayer made in Your name.
