Objectives of the Workshop

The objectives are

Identify and document the required Business Interoperability Interfaces related to Pan-European electronic transactions in public procurement and document them as a set of technical specifications

The UN/CEFACT standards are taken into account in order to ensure global interoperability

Provide support to pilot projects implementing the technical specifications in order to remove technical barriers preventing interoperability (specifically the PEPPOL project)

The starting point for the workshop were the NES and CODICE customizations of OASIS Universal Business Language 2.0

The Next Generation of electronic business document exchange

CEN BII provides CWA’s that when implemented will increase the level of interoperability between systems that rely on the UBL and CEFACT business document standards.

CEN BII has also addressed issues related to implementation and the testing of implementations.

Organized use of the CEN BII CWA is being tested by PEPPOL

The CEN BII WS is providing the next generation platform for electronic business document exchange.
