Who has the advantage?
UTAH vs. AIR FORCE
QUARTERBACKS
UTAH!Jordan Wynn’s 321-yard outing last week against Colorado State was the third 300-yard pass performance of his career. Through !ve starts, Wynn has completed 69.8 percent of his throws and has a 168.61 pass-e"ciency rating, which would rank No. 6 in the nation and !rst in the Mountain West Conference, but he is still short of the NCAA requirement to compete in 75 percent of a team’s games to be listed. With Wynn at quarterback this year, the Utes are 21-of-23 inside the red zone.
AIR FORCE!Tim Je#erson has run for a touchdown in six of seven games, including last week against TCU. He ran for 39 yards in all and completed three passes for 47 yards in a 38-7 losing e#ort in Fort Worth, Texas. Je#erson had career bests in completions and attempts against San Diego State on Oct. 16. He was good on 13-of-30 for 175 yards and a touchdown pass. Still just a junior, Je#erson’s 17-9 record as a starter is good enough for !fth on the school’s all-time list.
RUNNING BACKS
UTAH!Eddie Wide ranks No. 7 in the MWC with 409 rushing yards, and Matt Asiata is ninth with 393 yards. Wide has been the biggest scor-ing threat for Utah, with seven rushing and two receiving scores. Both of the runners have been decent receiving threats—Wide has 19 catches to Asiata’s 18. After missing the !rst four games, sophomore third-stringer Sausan Shakerin has shown hints of greatness to come. In 12 carries, he’s collected 105 yards and scored twice.
AIR FORCE!Tailback Asher Clark broke away with more than 100 yards three times so far against BYU, CSU and SDSU. Clark is No. 6 in rush-ing in the MWC, averaging 85.2 per game. He is on pace to rush for 1,022 yards, which would make him the Falcons’ !rst 1,000-yard runner since 2007. However, TCU put a damper on his big season, holding to a season-low 18 yards on the ground. Nathan Walker collected 30 yards and got his !rst career start last week in place of the injured Park City native Jared Tew, who is out inde!nitely. Walker has four rushing touchdowns. Before the injury, Tew rushed for 540 yards and three scores in seven starts.
OFFENSIVE LINE
UTAH!The starting unit has allowed just two sacks this year, and the line as a whole has given up three. Caleb Schlaudera# leads the team with 13 pancake blocks. Center Zane Taylor has been perfect on snaps this year, as was Tevita Stevens when he !lled in for the injured Taylor at the position on Sept. 18 against New Mexico.
AIR FORCE!The Air Force line is part of the No. 1 rushing o#ense in the nation—the Falcons average 326.5 yards per game. The line has avoided injury thus far. All !ve starters have started every game this year.
LINEBACKERS
UTAH!Chaz Walker’s start to 2010 has tapered o# slightly, but he still leads the team and is No. 7 in the MWC in stops, with 55. His best game was against UNLV on Sept. 11, when he totaled 15 tackles, the most by any Ute in four years. Matt Martinez is second in tackles with 43. He had seven tackles and half a sack last week against CSU. Chad Manis is third with 40 tackles. He also has two tackles for loss and a pass breakup. Backup Boo Andersen has 20 tackles and half a sack.
AIR FORCE!Junior Jordan Waiwaiole is second on the team in tackles with 52 stops. He had a career-best 15 tackles against Navy on Oct. 2, the most tackles for any Falcon in 2010. He also got his !rst interception, earning him MWC Defen-sive Player of the Week honors. Inside linebacker Brady Amack is right behind Wai-waiole with 44 tackles. Amack averaged seven tackles per game through the !rst four games of the season, but that number has dropped to four per game since.
SPECIAL TEAMS
UTAH!Joe Phillips was good on his only !eld-goal attempt last week from 36 yards. Phillips’ only missed attempt this year came on a blocked point after touchdown against Wyoming on Oct. 16. Sophomore Sean Sellwood’s 45.5 yards per punt average would rank No. 14 in the nation if he had the minimum requirement for attempts. The Utes rank No. 2 nationally in both kick-return average, 28.06 yards, and punt-return average, 21.14 yards. Punt returner Smithson has three touchdowns this year—only Oregon can match that.
AIR FORCE!Placekicker Erik Soderberg is 4-of-8 on !eld-goal attempts. His makes are from 29, 20, 25 and 30 yards, and his misses came from 48, 49, 26 and 46 yards. His career .684 !eld-goal percentage is No. 7 in team history. Punter Keil Bartholomew averages 41.5 yards on 20 attempts with two punts inside the opponent’s 20-yard line along with a season-long 55 yarder against Colorado State. In the return game, Warzeka averages 29.4 yards on kicko# returns to lead the MWC. He re-turned one for 100 yards into the end zone against CSU.
DEFENSIVE LINE
UTAH!Three linemen recorded sacks last week. Senior defensive ends Derrick Shelby and Christian Cox each notched one, and junior tackle Sealver Siliga got credited with a half sack. Cox is !fth on the team in tackles with 29. Siliga is second among linemen with 18 stops. Nose tackle Dave Kruger has chipped in 17 tackles and half a sack.
AIR FORCE!Senior defensive end Rick Ricketts leads all linemen with a career 12.5 tackles for loss and 5.5 sacks. Ricketts collected !ve stops against TCU and has a total of 42 tackles this year. Junior end Zach Payne is second in stops among linemen with 29. Junior Caleb Konemann’s two recorded sacks are tied for the team lead. However, both came against Northwestern State in week one.
RECEIVERS
UTAH!DeVonte Christopher and Shaky Smithson were both on the receiving end of touchdowns last week. Christopher !nished with !ve catches for 111 yards. He leads the team with 499 receiving yards and !ve touchdowns. Smithson has racked up 214 yards on 11 catches, giving him a team-best 19.5-yard average to go along with his three receiving scores. Senior Jereme Brooks leads all receivers and is second in the MWC in receptions with 32.
AIR FORCE!Junior wideout Jon Warzeka and senior tight end Chaz Demerath combined have been on the receiving end of nearly half of Je#erson’s 52 completions—both have 12 receptions. Warzeka, with 193 rushing yards on 28 carries, ranks fourth on the team. Demerath is still healing from a knee injury that forced him to miss last week’s game. Junior Josh Freeman will start in his absence.
COMPILED BY JAKE HIBBARD
DEFENSIVE BACKS
UTAH!Lamar Chapman took down freshman Pete Thomas of CSU last week, bringing his sack total to 5.5 to lead the team. That is also good enough for second in the MWC. Chapman’s 9.5 tackles for loss and 1.36 tackles for loss yard average both lead the conference. Brandon Burton and Brian Blechen are both tied for No. 6 in the MWC with !ve passes defended—they each have four pass breakups and one interception. Corner Conroy Black got his !rst intercep-tion last week. He has three pass breakups and a sack as well. Free safety Justin Taplin-Ross has 24 tackles, one sack, one interception and a pass breakup.
AIR FORCE!Jon Davis is No. 8 in the MWC and leads the Falcons with 61 stops. He recorded 10 tackles last week, his second double-digit game. He’s also forced two fumbles, recovered one and had a pick against Wyoming and Navy in back-to-back weeks. Anthony Wooding logged his !rst career start against TCU and came up with eight tackles and an interception. Starter Reggie Rembert’s best game came in a victory over Colorado State. He !nished with seven stops, an interception, a fumble recovery and three pass breakups.

Haunted corn maze features live scenes
The most famous Tim Burton movie that he never directed is !lled with a mix of catchy, demented holiday music and intriguing stop-motion art certain to, if not scare, then at least get people into the Halloween spirit.
With an unnecessary remake in the works, now might be your only chance to see the movie that spread fear of clowns to the masses before it shrinks to obscurity like the other redone horror classics.
The Rocky Horror

The Nightmare
Before Christmas
Ghosts, ghouls and goblins aren’t any-thing to be scared about when the Ghost Busters are around. The masterpiece of paranormal comedy that helped launch Bill Murray’s career remains one of the funniest movies of all time and a staple of the spooky season.
Alfred Hitchcock’s prelude to the modern slasher movie not only left generations of people afraid to take a shower without constantly peeking outside the curtain, but it also created one of the most iconic musical cues. Not to mention it inspired the horror genre as it exists today.
Referencing more than 10 classic sci-! horror movies in the !rst song alone, this movie continues to have highly attended midnight showings. With catchy music, an over-the-top plot and interactive screenings, “Rocky Horror” remains one of the best experiences for an October night.
