two side-impact air bags for the

driver and front-seat passenger,

and head curtain side air bags

with rollover protection that

function like a protective curtain,

unfolding from the roof rail oneach side. Activated by side-

impact and rollover sensors, each

curtain includes air bag sections

for outboard front, second-row

and third- row passengers. The

front passenger air bag features

a Passenger Sensing System. It

uses a sensor within the front

passenger seat to detect the

weight of the occupant. Under acertain weight, the system auto-

matically turns off the air bag.

In a crash, built-in sensors around

your vehicle can automatically

send an alert to OnStar.2 An

a decade o innovative development, it is both a highly advanced

technology—ully integrated within the vehicle— and a warm human service.

One year o the OnStar Directions & Connections plan is standard. In addition

to the convenience o Hands-Free Calling,1 it also includes Automatic Crash

Response (see page 19), Stolen Vehicle Assistance,2 lin to Emergency Services,
