Old Man Winter is coming, are you ready? If you are planning to hit the skislopes, have you taken time to get fit? If not, there is still time to get into anynumber of classes to avoid those nagging strains and pulls.

So what if it is getting colder? You have the tropics right in your own backyard.Gather up family and friends, pack that swim suit and head over to Adventure Islandin the Family FunPlex. Warm water, tons of fun and best of all, cheaper thanflying to the tropics! Okay, so you like it cold. Then the Greeley Ice Haus is the placeto be, anytime of the year. Though it is not really that cold in the Haus, the fun andexcitement is always there for you to enjoy. Try the many Public Skate sessions,Cosmic Skating and the Family Skate sessions and you may just run into someoneyou know. Don’t forget those winter birthday parties are great in the Haus.

Hey Seniors...can you believe how many great opportunities are available for you tohave fun, stay active and be fit? Pages 63-77 give you the information you will notwant to miss.

Golf in winter? Of course, as long as Mother Nature allows the courses to be openfor play. Check out pages 10-11 for fantastic rates and services, including our great

food and beverage concessionaires, Outback at Boomerang and Bogey’s at Highland Hills.

Special Events make a community great, and fun to live in. Take a look at what is going on in Greeleythis winter on pages 16 & 17. Mark your calendar for the annual Festival of Trees November 27-Dec 4.

Vacation Station is the place to be for kids. Pages 18-19 tell you all about the December 17-29 funactivities. Hurry to sign up since space could fill quickly. Don’t forget to read all about the Kidz Exploreprogram on page 51 for some exciting classes and programs for youth.

Union Colony Civic Center, the UCCC, has a great line up of national performances. Turn to page 21 tosee why you do not have to get in the car, drive any further than downtown Greeley and spend a ton ofmoney in Denver when you have the best right in your own backyard!

Sports, sports and more sports, for adults and youth alike. From volleyball, basketball to martial arts, andtons of other opportunities, we have it. For those Preschoolers, we now have sports with AmazingAthletes. Turn to page 48 to find out more. Have a safe and wonderful winter.

As the weather turns cold, the Ice Haus heats it up on the ice. With Skate School and Hockey classes in full swing youwon’t miss a beat this winter with some cool fun. Visit pages 16-17 for a list of the upcoming special events. The Ice Haus will also be celebrating National Skating Month in January, so check out page 20 for details.

For a full list of classes and programs see the Greeley Ice Haus pages 32-34.

Island Grove was just recently listed in the American KennelClub Journal as one of the top five sites in the nation for hosting dog shows!

Owned by the City of Greeley and Weld County, with significantinvestments from private entities, Island Grove has an on-site staff thatoffers top-notch customer service. Whether it is a small gathering of familyand friends, a business get-together or an event that fills the grandstands, you can count on us! Book the entire Island Grove complex for a multi-dayevent or just a specific portion of the park for the day, and you will find thatwe offer some of the most affordable facility usage and equipment rentalrates anywhere.

In Breckenridge each year, people from varyingcultures and climates come together to carvebeautiful masterpieces from 20-ton blocks of snow.In just 65 hours, these enormous snow canvassestransform into dimensional works of art.
