Part B
Activities Carried Out During the Year 2011-12
1. Activities reflecting the Goals and Objectives of the Institution -
The college was established in 1996 with its prime goal to provide higher
education to the students in the remote area like Lanja Tahasil. Along with
providing qualitative education with value addition, our institution is trying best
for overall development of the students to compete with the global competition.
To enhance the skills among the students, college conducts various curricular, co-
curricular and extra-curricular activities through various committees and
departments. The N.S.S. department and Depart of Life Long Learning &
Extension initiating for inculcating social values among the students.

3. Innovations In Curricular Design And Transactions -
As college is affiliated to Mumbai University, there is limited scope for
curricular design to the college. However, some of the our faculty members are
members of Board of Studies in their respective subjects. During the meetings of
Board of Studies and workshops on revised syllabus, our faculty members
contributed by expressing their views, ideas and opinions about restructuring and
implementation of the syllabus.

The institution conducts an examination as per rules and regulations of the
Mumbai University. Recently University has introduced Credit Based Grading
and Semester System for F.Y. B.A., B.Com. B.Sc. and Credit Based Grading
System for T.Y. B. Com. It is beneficial to evaluate students' performance
continuously. It also includes internal evaluation of 40 marks. Along with
examination pattern suggested by the university, college also conducts terminal

examination, preliminary examination, class test, tutorials, seminars etc. as a part
of internal evaluation.

Development of Green House - As a part of garden development a green
house is constructed for the germination and nurturing of rare and indigenous
trees saplings and seedlings.
Horticulture Practices - Various horticulture practices has been done for
the healthy development of trees like Morus alba (Tuti), Diploclacia
glauscescens (Ramrukh), Gymnema sylvestre (Madhuparni), etc.
Maintenance of herbal garden - To conserve and develop herbal garden,
various practices have been done for germination of medicinal plants.

26. Computer and internet access and training to the students -
Computer sets are provided to the Heads of various departments. Internet
facilities are available in the computer laboratory, library and office. Faculty
and students can access it as per requirement.
27. Financial aid to students -
Financial incentives are offered to the students in the form of prizes, free
ships, scholarships etc. College has also allowed to the students to pay the
fees in convenient installments.
28. Activities and support from the Alumni Association -

On behalf of Alumni Association, a well known play “Karun Gelo Gaon” was
organized. The funds collected from the show was donated to the society,
which will be worth contributing for the purpose of infrastructure
development.
29. Activities and support from the Parent – Teacher Association -
Two parent teachers meetings were held during the academic year dated on
1/10/2011 and 5/02/12. During these meetings parents have expressed their
views and expectations from the institution which are very much useful for
further development.

A first aid centre is functioning in the College. Necessary medicines, band-
aids and other first aid materials are stocked so as to meet an emergency.

34. Activities of the Guidance and Counseling unit -
Apart from class room teaching the commitment of a teacher towards his
students also includes imparting proper guidance about the scope of various
higher courses, especially job oriented, and making available to them various job
opportunities as much as possible. In view of this, competitive examination

Celebration of “ Gurupournima “ is a traditional practice of our college in
which, students honoured to the faculty as well as staff as a Guru.

reformers, well known writers and novelist were celebrated.
Sarswati Pujan was celebrated in the college.
Hindi Sabha
On behalf of Hindi department, Hindi Sabha is working effectively in our
college. Its aim is creating awareness about Hindi language and Hindi
literature among the students at college as well as high school and primary
school . On behalf of this Hindi Din and Hindi Fortnight were celebrated to
familiar Hindi language among the students.
Celebration of “ Hindi Pakhawada” during the period 14th
Sept. 2011 to 28th
September, 2011. For celebration of “ Hindi Pakhawada”. During the various
competitions were organized like debate, group discussion, tests, poster
making, essay writing, poem writing etc.

competition, translation competition, preparation of posters on various issues,
guidance on improving Marathi writing skills, organization of group
