With the advent of bodyarmor, the most common cause of preventable deaths in the tactical en-vironment can be attributed to rapid loss of blood due to extremitywounds. A major-artery wound can cause the victim to become uncon-scious within two minutes, bleed out, and expire minutes later.

If life-saving devices like pressure cuffs or tourniquets are available, thequestion then becomes, How do I locate and apply them quickly to my-

self or team members in these critical few seconds?
