    CAT as CBT

    Common Admission Test(commonly known as CAT

    across India) is conducted byIndian Institutes of

    Management, the reputed

    business schools of India.

    The test is held annually duringOctober-November.

    Till 2008, it was paper based

    format where the candidateread the questions in a paper

    booklet and darken the ovals onthe answer-sheet.

    From 2009, CAT became aComputer Based Test (CBT), in

    which the candidate will readthe questions on a computer

    terminal and choose an answerby clicking on the correct

    option.

    IIM To conduct CAT as a CBT, IIMs hired the services of Prometric, the US-basedtesting agency.

    Prometric

    Prometric selected Everonn as one of its delivering partners IIM CAT from theyear-2010.

    Everonn

    Everonn, an existing test delivery partner of Prometric for IT certificationbusiness has a positive track record of conducting exams in India. Everonn hassuccessfully administered IIMCAT 2010 across 12 locations in the country .

    Everonn is offered to administer IIMCAT2011 in 19 locations across the country.

    The Site Supervisor - Responsibilities1. Ensure that the operations and performance at this test center(s) meet the standards of

    Prometric and its Testing clients.

    2. Ensure all the Test Center Administrators & Proctors are certified within the deadlines.3. Plan weekly staff schedules as needed and supervise both permanent and temporary Test Center

    Administrators/Proctors.

    4. Act as a Test Center Administrator to administer tests when short staffed.

    5. Assist in the training of Test Center Administrators/Proctors.

    6. Maintain a center schedule for utilization of center open hours to meet and satisfy Prometric

    contractual requirements.

    7. To supervise security/verification precautions of test candidates arriving for registration,

    ensuring that identification and confirming license entitlement, eligibility, etc. is carried out

    correctly.

    8. To support operations and technical personnel with data communications, ensuring that these

    are successfully completed.

    9. To ensure that Site reports are filed for unusual situations or complaints.

    10. To provide security at the testing facility by ensuring all locks and security systems are properlyused. The SS may also be responsible for holding keys to the testing facility.

    11. Actively participate in Prometric quality assurance, audit programs and other company exercises

    and initiatives as a flexible team player.

    12. Maintain a working knowledge of policies, practices and procedures.

    13. Resolve candidate and or building problems or report them to appropriate team

    14. Protect security of all software and testing environment

    1. Manage incidents of unacceptable identification or authorization-to-test

    documentation according to Prometric and the IIMs expectations.

    2. Manage candidate misconduct such as a security breach or inappropriate/threatening

    behavior according to Prometric and the IIMs expectations.

    3. Engage property management to maintain environmental conditions within

    acceptable limits.

    4. Maintain appropriate levels of inventory for unhindered test administration at the

    Site responsible.

    5. Refer candidates, clients and the general public to appropriate sources for situations

    outside of Site Supervisors authority.

    Server Requirements

    Install ONLY .NET 2.0 on the server.

    Use ONLY the 32 bit version of Windows Server 2000 or Windows Server 2003.

    The recommended configuration is for ALL components to exist within ONE DOMAIN.

    Make sure your firewall allows access to the security service found at the followingURL: https://stronghold.prometric.com

    Note: you will not be able to "view" anything on this page, but your server does needto be "unblocked" from accessing it.

    To allow access to the security service URL you will need to manually add your serveras an intranet Site.

    You can do so by following these easy steps. The night before TCFlow will be deployedto your site, make sure the server Pulse is run from keeps running overnight.

    Once TCFlow is deployed, you will be required to restart All workstations.

    Admin station MUST have installed: .NET 2.0 or higher, Adobe Reader 7 orhigher, Internet Explorer 7

    NO Vista! Admin stations can only run on Windows XP

    Make sure your firewall allows access to the security service found at thefollowing URL: https://stronghold.prometric.com Note: you will not be able to"view" anything on this page, but your server does need to be "unblocked" fromaccessing it.

    To allow access to the security service URL you will need to manually add yourserver as an intranet Site.

    The TCA will need to use the Admin computer for all beginning of the dayprocesses, including "opening the test center", checking in candidates, reprintingscore reports, scheduling/rescheduling, running rosters, checking a candidateout, changing a workstation, getting message of the day and many moreadministrative functions.

    Dealing with Candidates

    1. All the issues will be handled at the level of TCAs and Proctors.

    2. Only those situations out of their control will be escalated to you.

    3. In case of any complaints or grievance from the student, convey him clearly nothingcan go beyond our controland things can be managed.

    4. Give afriendly, caring pep talkbefore every testing window that you and your team

    will strive for their successful accomplishment of the task ahead.

    5. Clearly explain him/her that every act is done only keeping the safety of his/her

    career in mind.

    6. In short, create a fatherly figure, who is strict, but caring.

    Facing Media

    1. Avoid facing the media.

    2. If at all a situation arises to face them, deal with them casually. Do not exhibit any

    emotions, as far as possible.

    3. If forced to respond to any sensitive query, just reply We are bound by a non-

    disclosure agreement with Prometric and am not authorized to answer these

    questions. Please divert your questions to Prometric.

    4. Keep in touch with Everonn representative and convey the scenarios on a daily basis.

    Training will be given by Prometric authorities onscheduled dates with TCAs.

    A CBT will be conducted for all the trainees.

    Certification will be done based on theperformance in the CBT.
