Results: After 6 treatments of monochromatic near infrared (890 nm) photo energy (MIRE), most subjects exhibited improved sensation. After 12 treatments, no subject continued to experience absent sensation to hot/cold: all had improved sensation based on Semmes-Weinstein (SW) monofilament test. Remarkably, 65% of subjects exhibited restoration of protective sensation (4.17 or below) and no subject had a SW value above 4.93.

Low-Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) Facilitates Superficial Wound Healing in Humans.• Conclusion: The LLT resulted in enhanced

healing as measured by wound contraction. These data indicate that LLLT is an effective modality to facilitate wound contraction of partial-thickness wounds.

Influence of low-level laser therapy on wound healing and its biological action upon myofibroblasts.• Conclusion: Laser therapy reduced the

inflammatory reaction, induced increased collagen deposition and a greater proliferation of myofibroblasts in experimental cutaneous wounds.
