Alexander Graham BellBy Aino and Ruby
When Alexander was born
Alexander Graham Bell was born on March the 3rd 1849 in Scotland.
Introduction
Alexander Graham Bell was an eminent scientist, inventor, engineer and innovator who is credited with inventing the first practical telephone.
His family
Bell’s father, grandfather and brother had all been involved with work on elocution and speech and both his mother and wife (deaf at age five) were deaf, helping influence Bell’s life’s work.
His research
His research on hearing and speech devices which further lead him top experiments with hearing devices which eventually culminated in Bell being awarded the first US patent for the telephone in 1876.
Him as a scientist After thinking about it, Bell considered
his most famous invention an intrusion on his real work as a scientist and refused to have a telephone in his study. Many other inventors marked Bell’s later life, including ground breaking work in optical telecommunications, hydrofoils and aeronautics.
