    ABOUT THE BLACK COACHES & ADMINISTRATORS

    The Black Coaches & Administrators (BCA) is a 501 (c) (3) tax exempt non-profitorganization whose purpose is to foster the growth and development of ethnicminorities at all levels of sport both nationally and internationally. The BCAaddresses significant issues pertaining to the participation and employment of ethnicminorities in sports. The organization also develops materials, programs, clinics andseminars for coaches and administrators which enables them to properly mentor andenhance their skills. They also assist individuals who aspire to have a career in

    athletics or volunteer through educational and professional developmentprogramming and scholarships.

    BLACK COACHES & ADMINISTRATORS PR OPERTIES

    Black Coaches & Administrators Properties (BCAP) is the multimedia rights holderand sports marketing arm for the Black Coaches & Administrators; in addition, BCAPfacilitates the multicultural sponsorships for Learfields network of schools. BCAPbuilds stronger ties between Corporate America and the national minoritycommunities through advertising, marketing and promotional opportunities with ourmembers and Learfield institutions. They are aimed at making an impact on yourbusiness by reaching the fans and alumni throughout each members community.In addition, BCAP has exclusive rights for corporate sales of the BCA NationalConvention and Expo held annually and the development of the official website,www.bcasports.cstv.com . BCAP is part of Learfield Sports, the preeminent leaderin the collegiate sports marketing arena. Learfield began its venture rights intosports in 1975 and since then has expanded into a variety of different markets.Learfield currently holds the media or multi-media rights to over 50 collegiateinstitutions and associations.

    case study

    In June 2006, a team of physicians and health care professionals from across thenation came together to look at ways to address disparities in cardiovascularcare for the underserved patient populations of women, black Americans, andHispanic/Latino Americans.

    The Close the Gap Steering Committee created a proof of principle pilotprogram in 10 cities to further identify opportunities and define strategies toimprove cardiovascular health outcomes for these patients. The Committee alsodirected the development of educational tools and events to support theseefforts.

    In 2007, the BCA and Close the Gap created a partnership that identifiedcoaches and sporting events to reach the underserved populations. By utilizingcoaches who are leaders in their respective communities the coaches were able toeducate fans through public service announcements and media messages. Todate, the partnership has helped Close the Gap directly reach hundreds ofthousands of fans at sporting events nation wide, in addition to the millions ofimpressions generated though traditional media coverage of the events (CNN,local affiliates, radio interviews etc.)

    The BCA has not only helped us by providing us hundreds of influential andunique voices across the country that connect with our target demographic for oureducational campaign, Close the Gap, but their network has also enabled us tobuild important partnerships with the NCAA, MLB, NFL and colleges across thecountry Chas McKhann, Vice President of Marketing Boston ScientificCorporation
