Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) program promotes
responsibility and self-sufficiency by creating an awareness of all
kinds of disasters, and trains individuals to be better prepared to
respond to emergency situations for their families and in their
neighborhoods and community. CERT members also give critical
support to first responders, provide immediate assistance to
victims, help suppress small fires and perform light search and
rescue.
