Dear Colleagues:

It is our pleasure to welcome you to the 2012 Missouri Park and Recreation Association Annual Conference. The conference theme, Did You Know, Now is the Time to Tell Our Story, represents both our association’s strongest grassroots advocacy effort and our call to action in this critically important educational campaign on the metric-based benefits of parks and recreation. The annual conference will be a great time to review the research in the field on these metrics, explore relationship-building action steps prescribed by the campaign, and to recommit to the campaign via your local effort.

As in our previous conferences, you can expect many opportunities to network with colleagues from all over the state. The conference program includes a wide variety of educational sessions, region and section meetings, socials, and more. In keeping with the theme, this year’s keynote will provide us with his story of the impact of parks and recreation on changing his life for the better. What better way to showcase the importance of what we do every day?!

We hope you enjoy your week at the Lake!

Sincerely,

Janet Snook, CPRP MPRA President
