Top Sequoia Advantages Over Tahoe

Sequoia is Toyota’s full-size, do-it-all SUV. Assembled in Indiana with engines produced in Alabama, it appeals to family-oriented Americans who need to accommodate multiple passengers as well as their multiple active pursuits. These customers’ priorities are passenger room, cargo room and towing capability, which just happen to be Sequoia’s strengths.

The Limited grade builds on this solid platform, adding numerous comfort, convenience and styling enhancements to balance Sequoia’s high-end function with exceptional form.

Some Sequoia Limited customers cross shop it with the Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ. It’s a worthy competitor in what has become—especially in this era of high gasoline prices—an increasingly competitive market segment.

This Edge compares these two vehicles, highlighting Sequoia’s many strong points. Be sure to watch the Sequoia vs. Tahoe Edge Live video for even more useful information.

20I2 SEQUOIA LIMITED vs. 20I2 CHEVROLET TAHOE LTZ

Chevrolet offers the Tahoe in three grades: LS, LT and LTZ. Each share the same powertrain—a 5.3-liter V8 engine and a six-speed automatic transmission. Besides an automatic locking differential that’s available as an option on the LS and standard on LT and LTZ, a richer mix of comfort and convenience features sets the grades apart. For customers who have their eye on Sequoia Limited, the only grade that can keep pace is the LTZ.

Here’s a list of some of this model’s key standard features.

More value down the road

Sequoia may also be the better value down the road, based on residual values projected by Automotive Lease Guide (ALG)1 for 2011 models. This can translate into lower monthly lease payments or more equity when trading in a new model. Sequoia also has the edge when it comes to cost of ownership, based on IntelliChoice’s2 five-year projections for 2011 models.
