Bike overviewOne of two bikes in Norco’s 2013 lineup to feature the new 650B wheel size, the new Range Killer B is sure to create a lot of buzz this year. As versatile as the riders it was designed for, the Range Killer B absolutely shines on ups, downs and everything else in between. The bike features 650B-specific geometry, engineered to emphasize all of the benefits of the larger wheel size. The Range’s 650B wheels improve ride characteristics for both climbing and descending by increasing traction and enabling the bike to float over rocks, roots and other trail obstacles. Featuring 160mm of A.R.T. suspension and Norco’s revolutionary Gravity Tune technology, the Range Killer B might end up being the only bike you ever take out of the garage.

Bike storyIf the 2012 Norco Range set a new standard within the all mountain category, the 2013 Range Killer B smashes that category to pieces. Featuring the game-changing 650B wheel size, the 2013 model is a ground-up redesign that will deliver the ultimate all mountain riding experience. Though it is clearly descended from the 2012 model, the 2013 Range Killer B is an entirely new beast. Purpose-built for the type of aggressive rider who pushes a bike to its limits and then pushes a little more, this is a platform for those relentless types who ride faster and charge harder than most.

For 2013, Norco’s engineers grabbed the bull by the horns and embraced the new 650B wheel size. 650B wheels offer riders the best of both worlds: they match the acceleration, maneuverability and handling characteristics of a 26” while providing the speed and rollover capability of a 29”. Redesigned around the larger wheel, the Range Killer B’s frame geometry and suspension kinematics are optimized to accentuate all of the positive characteristics that make the 650B perfect for all mountain riding.

The Range’s state-of-the-art alloy frame is engineered to be slightly more robust where it counts, so the bike can withstand the kind of trail punishment it was designed for. Components are spec’d to match the Range’s new, more aggressive demeanor. The 2x10 taco style rock bashguard comes stock, because we know you’re going to need it.

The Range Killer B features Norco’s proprietary Gravity Tune technology, which was developed for our DH race platform, the Aurum. Gravity Tune fixes the rear-centre/front-centre ratio across all frame sizes, enabling riders big and small to experience ideal body positioning and the same perfectly balanced ride. We brought the technology to our all mountain platform to ensure optimal weight distribution, exceptional handling and superior ride characteristics for all.

With 160mm of A.R.T. suspension, short chain stays, hydroformed tubing, slack geometry, low standover and a Syntace 142x12 axle system, the 2013 Range Killer B is destined to further stretch the limits of what an all mountain bike can do. Bike overviewThe Norco Shinobi is a highly capable, exceptionally versatile 29er that prefers the backcountry to the beaten path. The bike is designed to give riders the flexibility to link up trails however they want: hang with the climbers in the cross-country 29er crowd and charge with the gravity junkies in the all mountain crowd – all in the same day. The benefits of 29” wheels are accentuated by Norco’s A.R.T. suspension system, which makes the Shinobi both a super-efficient pedaling platform and an extremely capable rig for all mountain-style descents. The 2013 Shinobi features revised geometry: shorter top tube, slightly taller bottom bracket and better stand over on the smaller frame sizes. It might just offer the most fun available in a 29er platform.

Intended useThe Shinobi is inspired by those whose epic rides take them far out into the backcountry, away from the crowds and the well worn, familiar trails. It is a new kind of bike for a new kind of rider: the type whose favourite black diamond descents are often preceded by long, grueling climbs. The Shinobi is designed to do both equally well. The shallow angle of attack that makes 29” wheels so effective at clearing obstacles on the way up also enables them to float over rough stuff on the way down. Throw in 120mm of A.R.T. suspension and a 140mm fork and you have the perfect weapon for the varied terrain that makes up a day of all mountain riding: technical climbs, rolling singletrack, rooty, rocky terrain, ledges and moderate drops – all are fair game. The versatile Shinobi gives you the freedom to make your own way. When we say ALL mountain, we mean it.

Bike overviewThe 2013 Norco Revolver is a fast, race-ready full suspension 29er. The bike’s sleek alloy frame features extensive hydroformed tubing and Norco’s double-pass welding technique, so it is strong, stiff, light and beautiful to look at. 29” wheels clear obstacles with unparalleled speed and efficiency, and they won’t get caught up on roots or rocks – so it’s easier to hold a line through rough descents. The Revolver’s marathon-tuned A.R.T. suspension system optimizes suspension kinematics for fast endurance riding. A tapered head tube, wide handlebars, 15mm front axle dropouts and Syntace X-12 rear hub/axle were brought down from our gravity-oriented platforms to improve responsiveness and make the bike exceedingly fun to ride.

Intended useThe 2013 Revolver lives for epic rides. With a chassis that is light, stiff and responsive, it is designed to eat up twisting fire road climbs, roll fast through flowy singletrack and eat up technical XC-style trails. Thanks to Norco’s A.R.T. suspension platform, the Revolver remains bob-free on the climbs and is remarkably capable on the descents. 29” wheels deliver a smoother, more consistent ride experience than traditional 26” wheels, and are particularly well suited to XC/marathon riding and endurance races like the BC Bike Race. The Revolver is a bike that loves to roll for hours, so if your idea of a “long ride” is sunrise to sunset, the Revolver is right there with you.

Designed for those looking to take their riding experiences to the next level, the Fluid 9 is a 100mm full suspension 29er for the masses. The bike features 29er-specific geometry and Norco’s A.R.T. (Advanced Ride Technology) suspension, which is trickle-down from our showcase platforms. The Fluid 9 is an XC/marathon bike that delivers great value and features at a very competitive price point. Whatever your level of trail competence or financial situation, the Fluid 9 levels the playing field and will have you ripping in no time.

Intended useThe Fluid 9 shines in any XC/Marathon environment, from rugged, technical trails to rolling singletrack, from short rips through local trail networks to epic excursions that take riders far from home. Bike storyThe Fluid 9 is a capable, lightweight XC trail bike that inspires confidence through its stability. The bike would be an excellent choice for a rider just getting into friendly races and local club rides, as 29er wheels are more forgiving when the terrain gets rough. Perhaps most importantly for novices, the Fluid 9 is designed to support a rider’s skills progression. The bike’s optimized geometry and suspension kinematics provide the same ride characteristics as our high-end full suspension bikes – but at an entry-level price.

The Fluid 9’s custom-formed and butted alloy frame is light, strong, and shaped to ensure low stand over heights on all sizes – a real point of differentiation within the 29er market. The frame also features a one-piece, forged link arm that enhances frame stiffness and reduces wear and tear on the rear shock. What really sets the bike apart is Norco’s A.R.T suspension platform, which enables our engineers to precision-tune suspension kinematics for intended use.

It is an XC /Marathon platform that delivers a similar level of performance as our higher-end models – but in a more economical package. 120mm of Advanced Ride Technology (A.R.T.) suspension ensures that the Fluid 6 is equally fun to ride on both the ups and the downs. The Fluid’s custom formed and butted alloy frame is engineered to be light and strong, while modern trail geometry ensures riders remain comfortable in the saddle while still being well positioned to push themselves on both climbs and descents. Components are carefully selected to achieve the lightest, most durable mix possible, making the Fluid 6 a great all-around trail bike for riders looking to take their skills to the next level.

Intended useThe Fluid rider is someone who is still getting into the sport of mountain biking, and not quite prepared to invest in a top-of-the-line model. They already possess some skills on a bike, and the biggest thing they are looking for, other than affordability, is a ride that will help them to progress and achieve their goals: riding their favourite trail without putting a foot down or descending a steep section that they’ve always walked in the past, for example. Intended useWhether you’re into World Cup downhill runs, marathon park days or after-work shuttle laps, the Aurum delivers unbelievable performance in any gravity-oriented environment. A purpose-built DH bike, it is designed to be fast and controlled over the steepest, most technical terrain imaginable. Flow through rock gardens and off-camber roots; whip through perilously tight trees; lean hard into corners and explode out of them at Mach speed ready to attack the next feature. Bike storyThe 2013 Aurum is a bike that almost dares you to go faster, and because it tracks so well at high speeds you can go ahead and give it what it wants. At the heart of the Aurum’s astonishing ability to do so many things so well is Norco’s A.R.T. (Advanced Ride Technology) suspension platform. In addition to giving the bike exceptional pedaling power, A.R.T. enables Norco’s engineers to optimize suspension kinematics around the many demands of a downhill race course: small stutter bumps, mean square edges, huge g-outs and high speed landings are all in a day’s work for the Aurum. Combine progressive suspension with incredible frame stiffness – particularly through the rear end thanks to the ultra-stiff Holloform linkarm and Syntace rear hub and dropout – and you have a bike whose handling and braking is always confident and predictable. The Aurum corners like it’s on rails and will scrub speed confidently and with minimal braking. In plain English, the Aurum is a heck of a lot of fun to ride.

Like its predecessor, the 2013 Aurum features Norco’s proprietary Gravity Tune technology, which fixes the rear-centre/front-centre ratio across all frame sizes. This enables riders big and small to experience ideal body positioning and the same perfectly balanced ride. Gravity Tune means optimal weight distribution, exceptional handling and superior ride characteristics for all.

Shaving milliseconds off race times takes razor-sharp precision and a team of passionate, dedicated engineers. Spend some time with an Aurum and you will begin to appreciate the meticulous attention to detail that went into the bike’s design. The Aurum’s every part is designed to fit seamlessly into the whole: integrated derailleur hangers, post-mount brakes, ‘clevisless’ pivots, integrated seat post clamp – absolutely nothing was overlooked. Add sleek hydroformed tubing and a signature racing stripe, and you have a rig that looks as fast as it is.

The 2013 model features a few refinements that are sure to gain the Aurum even more fans. We modified the bump stops to accommodate a wider variety of triple clamp forks. We also dramatically improved cable routing by modifying cable guide locations on the seat stay yoke – this will reduce cable rub and bending and will prolong the life of your cables so you can keep banging out laps. We’re also introducing more price points and offering more component spec options – all on the same World Cup frame found on our team bikes.
