Greetings: It is a pleasure to join Remember Honor Support, Incorporated in welcoming all those attending the Patriot Day Memorial Breakfast held September 11, 2013 at The Coliseum in St. Petersburg, Florida. This event features guest speaker Michael Fineo, World Trade Center Tower One Survivor, and all proceeds will benefit Paws for Patriots, Special Operations Warrior Foundation and the Gold Shield Foundation, Inc. Your participation is greatly appreciated. The mission of Remember Honor Support, Inc. is to engage the greater Tampa Bay community at all levels through the Patriot Day Memorial Breakfast, and through its board members to ensure we never forget the service and sacrifices of our First Responders, the men and women who have served and continue to serve in the United States Military and their families. This annual event provides the opportunity to demonstrate our appreciation for the dedication and sacrifices of those who bravely serve and to those who have paid the ultimate price to insure our safety and freedom.

We are hopeful attendees will have the opportunity to visit Tampa’s many cultural and historical locations our city has to offer. Whether you visit one of our landmark attractions, ride the streetcar from Channelside to Ybor City, enjoy a meal at one of our fine restaurants, or visit our many first-class shopping areas, we are sure you will find your visit to be an unforgettable experience. Of particular note are the Tampa Bay History Center, Tampa Museum of Art, Glazer Children’s Museum and Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park. These are all state-of-the-art facilities honoring our community’s history and heritage. Once again, welcome. Sincerely,

Bob Buckhorn

SEPT. 11, 2013 | REMEMBER HONOR SUPPORT | ST. PETERSBURG, FLA.

On Sept. 11, 2001, the attack on our country claimed 2,977 lives, making it the bloodiest day on American soil since the civil war. Lives lost included innocent men, women and children, military personnel, and incredibly brave first responders who paid the ultimate sacrifice valiantly attempting to save others.

Since that infamous day, brave men and women have been fighting those who would challenge the American way of life and the freedom our Country was founded upon.

Americans sleep peacefully, in part, due to the efforts of our brave armed services, our courageous first responders and all of those who lead them. However, the cost of waging war has taken a terrible toll in terms of lives lost and lives forever changed. Many of these heroes will suffer, forever.

We must never forget those who paid the ultimate sacrifice on 9/11 and since. And we must continue to support those who have returned from battle physically and mentally wounded as well as the families of the fallen. With this in mind, Patriot Day Memorial Breakfast has adopted the motto: Remember-Honor-Support. We ask all patriots to adopt this motto as well.

Remembering, Honoring and Supporting our heroes is not only the right thing to do – it is our responsibility as citizens of the country we love.

SEPT. 11, 2013 | REMEMBER HONOR SUPPORT | ST. PETERSBURG, FLA.

This table is our way of honoring those members of our proud professions who are missing from our midst. They are Prisoners of War, Service members that are Missing in Action, and fallen comrades – military, first responders, and airline pilots, who are unable to be here with us this morning. We have this table so that we remember the men and women who have made the ultimate sacrifice to our Nation at home and abroad. Though our fallen comrades are not with us this morning, we reverently honor their service and their sacrifice to God and to Country.

The table is round and symbolizes our continuous and everlasting concern for our fallen comrades. The tablecloth is white, symbolizing the purity of their intentions to respond to the call to duty. The single rose in the vase reminds us of the families and loved ones of our comrades who keep faith, and keep their memories alive.A slice of lemon is on the bread plate to remind us of their bitter fate. The salt is symbolic of their families’ tears, as they mourn their loss. The juice glass in inverted, as they cannot toast with us this morning.Their chairs are empty for they will not be joining us here this morning.
