GSM Scrap GrabCaterpillar Work Tools has extended its product portfolio with the release of Cat branded Orange Peel Grabs with vertical cylinders (GSM).

The GSM Orange Peel Grapples are designed for handling scrap and waste, for loading and unloading ships and trucks, etc. The GSM grab forms an excellent match with Cat and Non-Cat material handling excavators.

Forestry GrapplesForestry Grapples for forest machines feature 360° rotation and can be quickly positioned for maximum productivity. Cat Forestry Grapples are built using high-strength steel throughout the body and tines, reinforced in key areas to maintain structural integrity. Grapples for knuckleboom loaders deliver outstanding performance in all types of logging and material handling. A wide range of sizes are available.

Orange Peel GrapplesContinuous 360° rotation gives an excavator operator full control to position the grapple around the scrap and other material swiftly and precisely. A covering guard facilitates easy access to the cylinders, which are housed within the tines for maximum protection. Choose from 4- or 5-tines in range of capacities sized for use with small and medium material handling excavators.

HammersWorking a Cat Hammer is as comfortable for the operator and those around the job site as possible. A sealed, sound-suppressed housing protects the power cell and significantly reduces sound levels. A variety of sizes and tool options make Cat Hammers the ideal choice for concrete demolition, breaking rock and frozen or hard ground, and trenching.

Felling HeadsFelling Heads for wheel and track feller bunchers are designed for optimum performance in severe harvesting conditions. Felling Heads for track feller bunchers feature robust structures, thick plating and reinforcements in high stress areas for best in class durability. With partial or full tilt, these heads optimize cutting and bunching capability and increase production. Felling Heads for wheel feller bunchers include shear heads and high capacity bunching saws with tapered saw shaft and bearing design. They are made of abrasion-resistant materials to maximize durability.

Harvester HeadsHarvester Heads are field proven in multiple applications around the world. These Heads can be matched with track harvesters, wheel harvesters and forest machines to meet many different terrain and environmental requirements while providing optimum performance.

CrushersThe P300 Multi-Functional Crusher rips concrete out of fixed structures,

cuts steel reinforcement rods and pulverizes concrete up to almost 1 m

(39 in) thick. A universal 360° rotator head enables rapid positioning, while wide jaws, specially positioned teeth

and integral speed valve mean you can crush and cut with great force while

reducing cycle times.

Forestry ForksSeveral fork types are available

for heavy duty applications found in forestry sites and mill yards.

Logging, Millyard, Grapple and Lumber forks are available for loading and unloading trucks,

decking and feeding the mill, to handling and sorting lumber, logs

and palletized material.

Pallet ForksMany Pallet Fork sizes are available

to equip the smallest to largest machines to move and handle all types

of material. From bulky, palletized material found on most every

construction site to bagged fertilizer and seed on landscaping and nursery

sites – Pallet Forks are some of the most versatile tools.

Grapple Buckets, Forks and RakesGrapple Buckets, Forks and Rakes are

designed to handle bulky materials. They are built for compact track

and multi terrain loaders, skid steer loaders, compact wheel loaders and

telehandlers. Utility grapple buckets, forks and rakes are for handling light

materials while industrial grapples are for heavy duty usage.

Demolition and Sorting GrapplesIt’s easy for an excavator operator to precisely position the grapple around

the target material with the Demolition and Sorting Grapple’s 360° rotation.

You work fast with full control. The powerful closing force of the grab shells combined with rapid open- and

closing-times speed up cycle times – so you can shift more tons per hour.

Material Handling ArmsThese tools equip Cat loaders and

telehandlers for moving, manipulating and placing pipe, precast concrete

structures, small equipment and other similar items with maximum visibility

and control. They are well suited for loading, carrying and setting trees and

large shrubs in landscaping.

MulchersFor high performance cutting,

mulching vegetation and undergrowth from typical wooded terrain – this

attachment reduces saplings, shrubs and trees into mulched material. A rugged

head processes trees up to 200 mm (8 in) in diameter for effective land

clearing. This Work Tool attachment is designed for use on compact track

and multi terrain loaders and skid steer loaders.

Multi-ProcessorsA Multi-Processor takes your excavator

to even higher levels of versatility. Consisting of a housing and jaw set

(with six jaw options available), it gives the flexibility to choose the right

jaw set for any cutting and crushing application in most any material found

on the scrap and demolition job site.

PulverizersSecondary Pulverizers fine-crush

concrete and concrete blocks resulting from site demolition. Wide jaws with

pick-up tips and numerous teeth, a large opening, reversible cutting edges

and rapid closing time helps reduce the largest possible amount of on-site concrete in the shortest possible time.

Landscape RakesThis rake style uses hardened

teeth to pulverize, aerate, level and condition the soil – while collecting and depositing rock and debris in an

integrated hopper bucket for quick removal. These rakes are designed

to operate with the loader in reverse, leaving the soil finely groomed with

minimal compaction.

Loader RakesCat Loader Rakes feature fabricated steel teeth for strength and a long service life in land clearing, stump removal, and boulder and large tree moving. Heavy duty styles with shorter teeth and more robust design are ideal for working in clay and other heavy soils. Rakes are available with or with a top clamp for wheel and track loaders.

Power Box RakesThis one work tool for compact track and wheel loaders, multi terrain loaders and skid steer loaders de-thatches, removes old lawns and weeds; grades, levels, rakes, removes debris; and prepares seedbeds. Angling ability allows the operator to windrow debris for easy pickup and removal.

RippersWith its powerful, single point of penetration, Cat Rippers are effective at breaking out rock and other difficult materials. Using it with a compatible quick coupler and rock bucket for “rip and load,” you can supplement or even leave out blasting rock prior to truck loading.

SawsWheeled Saws are designed for high-performance trench cutting on a variety of hard or compact surfaces like asphalt, reinforced concrete and rocky or frozen ground. They are compatible with compact track and multi terrain loaders, skid steer loaders, and compact wheel loaders.

ShearsFull, 360° continuous rotation in both directions allows the shear to position the jaws precisely for cutting common metals found in scrap yards and building structures. A piercing tip, unique jaw design, and fully reversible blades keep the shear highly productive in scrap yards and on demolition sites.

Snow BlowersCat Snow Blowers utilize a two-stage

auger and impeller design to move a greater capacity of snow quickly and efficiently. Snow Blowers are

compatible with compact track and multi terrain loaders, skid steer

loaders, and compact wheel loaders. They are designed for removing snow

from streets, parking lots, driveways and sidewalks.

Stump GrindersDesigned to economically remove stumps in residential, commercial

and agricultural settings – Cat Stump Grinders offer increased production

over tow-behind grinders in situations where multiple stump removal is

required. They are compatible with compact track and multi terrain loaders,

skid steer loaders, and compact wheel loaders.

TillersTillers are designed for breaking

up and pulverizing soil, mixing compost or other material into

existing soil, stabilizing and leveling existing terrain in landscape finish

applications. Cat Tillers are compatible with compact track and multi terrain

loaders, skid steer loaders and compact wheel loaders.

TrenchersCat Trenchers are designed for use on compact track and multi terrain loaders, skid steer loaders and compact wheel loaders – allowing these machines to cut narrow straight trenches in soil for laying electrical, telephone and cable lines, or water and gas pipe.

Truss BoomsTruss Booms for telehandlers are designed to lift and place items like roof trusses, frames, beams as well as equipment. The truss boom, with its added horizontal and vertical reach, allows for materials and equipment to be placed in hard to reach areas.

WinchesBoom head mounted Winches are available for telehandlers for lifting long, awkward loads that cannot be handled safely on a pallet and/or materials that need to be lowered below grade.

Technology Product Family Description

AccuGrade™ Control Systems

AccuGrade Grade Control Systems simplify your grading operation, enabling you to complete site prep work faster, easier and more efficiently. Positioning and guidance technologies, machine sensors, and automatic blade control capabilities, combined with in-cab conveniences such as digital design plans, real-time cut/fill data, and guidance indicators, enable operators to work more confidently and achieve greater accuracy, in fewer passes, using less material. From simple 2D grades and slopes to complex 3D designs, AccuGrade delivers the information and control operators need to stay on grade, improving accuracy and productivity up to 50 percent. Grade stakes and checkers are minimized, making the work site safer, more efficient, and more cost effective. Dealer-installed only. AccuGrade technologies include Cross Slope, Sonic, Laser, GPS, and/or Universal Total Station (UTS).

AccuGrade Compaction Control Systems enable operators to achieve compaction faster, in fewer passes. Compaction mapping data can be stored and retrieved for validation and recordkeeping.

Cat Compaction Control Cat Compaction Control begins with compaction measurement information (e.g., soil stiffness measurement) and can be enhanced with GPS/UTS mapping systems. These capabilities improve work quality, lower owning and operating costs, reduce manpower, and optimize productivity.

Cat Grade Control Cat Grade Control is a factory installed system that combines traditional machine control and guidance with machine hardware and software to improve productivity, usability, reliability, job site safety and machine value. By integrating the system into Cat machine hydraulics, sensors and cylinders, customers are able to save valuable time and money over installing an aftermarket grade control system.

Command for Dozing Command for dozing enables remote operation from a safe location away from the machine. Removing operators from the cab of a machine working in hazardous conditions promotes safety and reduces operator exposure to dust, noise and vibration. The operator console is a portable, over the shoulder unit that enables line of sight remote operation of the machine. Operating range is approximately 400 meters depending on the radio frequency selected. Terrain’s avoidance zone functionality (optional) can be utilized to further enhance safety.

Command for Underground Command for underground is designed to enhance safety and boost operator efficiency and effectiveness. The system allows the operator to work from a safe and ergonomic work station far from the Load Haul Dump (LHD) machine – either on the surface or underground without sacrificing machine productivity. The system can also have a significant impact through increased machine availability, decreased operating costs and extended machine life.

CAES for Industrial & Quarry CAES delivers real time productivity information to machine operators in quarry and industrial applications. An in-cab display delivers accurate cut and fill information to ensure proper grade control of stockpiles and effective removal of overburden or targeted materials. Instant feedback warns the operator when 2D and 3D avoidance surfaces and zones have been breached to keep operators safe. RCAES for CAES for Industrial & Quarry real-time productivity data can be viewed from the office, enabling management to remotely plan and manage the operation, better manage machine and operator utilization, optimize fuel usage, and maximize production. CAES provides detailed reports and collects multiple data points for record keeping and validation.

CAES for Landfills CAES for Landfills takes the guesswork out of landfill operations by delivering productivity information to the cab to indicate when target compaction has been achieved. The system uses positioning and guidance technologies and an in-cab display with a color-coded topographic map with real-time compaction data to show the operator where they need to work for optimum waste placement and compaction. It also provides guidance for proper cover soil placement to optimize coverage and soil usage. CAES eliminates over and under compaction, reducing costs, and minimizes airspace consumption, extending the life of the landfill. Mapping data can be stored for reporting, record keeping and air space validation.

Detect Detect helps increase operator awareness, enhancing safety at your operation. It includes a range of capabilities designed to assist the operator with areas of limited visibility around fixed and mobile equipment.

Object Detection uses a combination of cameras, radars and a touch screen display to identify objects in close proximity at machine startup and slow speed operation. The display has proximity bars that indicate approximate distance to an object, providing enhanced operator awareness around the machine.

Proximity Awareness provides complete coverage by utilizing GNSS to warn operators of nearby equipment and light vehicles whenever the machine is in operation. The on-board system, coupled with the office software, enables mine management to recognize hazards, define avoidance and speed limit zones, and capture events for future playback in the office.

Fleet Fleet is a comprehensive mine management system featuring an advanced truck assignment engine, health and operational event alarming, “what-if” analysis, productivity tracking, machine tracking, material management and a comprehensive reporting package. Integrating with other Cat MineStar™ System capability sets, Fleet improves productivity by 10-15%, eliminates misdirected loads, improves information availability and provides greater flexibility to adjust for changing mine and market conditions.

Health Health enables real time and batch monitoring of fleet-wide, critical health and operating parameters. By recording information from on-board monitoring systems like VIMS™ and making it available in a comprehensive reporting package, Health helps customers and Cat dealers identify maintenance and operational issues to improve machine and fleet availability.

Payload Control System Payload Control System helps take the guesswork out of loading operations with on-the-go load weighing to optimize performance and productivity. Product Link™ Product Link helps take the guesswork out of equipment management with remote monitoring capabilities for your machine or your entire fleet. Track asset location, hours, fuel usage, diagnostic codes, idle time and more through the secure VisionLink™ user interface, powered by Trimble. Knowing where your equipment is, what it’s doing and how it’s performing enables you or your Cat dealer to manage your fleet in real-time so you can maximize efficiency, improve productivity, and lower operating costs. Terrain Terrain enables high-precision management of drilling, dragline, grading and loading operations through the use of guidance technology. It increases machine productivity and operator efficiency by providing real-time feedback.

Terrain for drilling increases hole placement and depth accuracy while removing the cost of drill pattern survey and staking. Position and status information of other drills working on the same pattern is provided to operators in real time on the in-cab display.

Terrain for draglines enables production monitoring of all dragline activities, right down to individual bucket loads and dump locations. Machine performance, productivity and payload are monitored and organized in reports to optimize dragline output and minimize operating costs.

Terrain for grading and loading help maximize machine efficiency by controlling grade, and monitoring ore bodies, bench height, cycle times, and volume of cut and filled material.

VIMS™ VIMS uses sensors that are deeply integrated throughout the machine’s brake, transmission and engine systems to constantly provide intelligent data and insight into every aspect of your machine’s condition. The system alerts operators of abnormal machine conditions in real-time and provides instructions if action is needed. Data, such as historical trends, histograms, abnormal events and more can to be transferred wirelessly or manually to the office for off-board analysis. Predictive analysis tools (VIMS PC, MineStar™ Health) analyze and interpret the data and provide actionable reports give you insight into necessary maintenance and repairs so you can proactively manage your fleet, maximize machine availability and uptime, and make your operation more productive and profitable.
