It seems as though 2013 just started,

so I am amazed when I go outside

and find it’s the middle of summer.

We have been so busy that time is

flying by. Although it is busy at Soft

Tech, it is also a very exciting time.

Soft Tech is earning a good reputa-

tion as a small business IT consulting firm. This

reputation is largely due to our incredible employ-

ees. I am overwhelmed by the amount of kudos and

accolades we receive about our staff.

Soft Tech’s great reputation is not only giving us

attention from our clients, but also from other

businesses. As we grow, we are establishing strong

relationships with other companies. We are happy

to announce that our partner General Dynamics

was awarded a large video surveillance contract. As

a subcontractor on this contract, Soft Tech will

assist General Dynamics in EMI, EMC and frequency

planning.

Page 2 Soft Tech Consulting Quarterly Newsletter Thank you to each and every member of our staff for the work you do each day. We look forward to sharing accolades with

all of you each quarter!

Our NIH/CIT/DCSS reached to express their gratitude for Todd Jaeckel and his work. He stepped in to help take notes when an interpreter was needed for a customer. They also stressed that “he’s competent, efficient, communicative, and reliable. He never fails to follow up!” Keep up the hard work, Todd!

Linda Buie has been commended by our NIH/CIT/DNST customer for her “can-do attitude” as a technician. Our customer went on to let her supervisor know that “she is one of your best technicians.” Thank you for all you do, Linda!

Soft Tech Sounding Board: Company Accolades

Members of our DOL-ETA team, Ellie Behzad and Winston Tavares, received the following kudos from our ETA cus-

tomer:

“Thank you for the outstanding assistance and support during the connectivity testing last week at TechWorld. Your presence was invalua-

ble because not only did it save us time and effort, but we were able to quickly identify the issues and find workarounds for all but one prob-

lem. The problem in question is something that can be successfully fixed rather soon; therefore, in an emergency we can assure our leader-

ship a smooth transition and easy access to important computer files and systems.”

Many thanks to DOL Help Desk team members Myriam Nunez, Tommie Hair, Willie Green, and Mike Smith. The customer applauded your consistently excellent service, adding:

“Whether it was a problem with my PC, my Outlook, E-Grants, getting access to ETA programs, arranging training or all manner

or IT support, your office has always been timely and helpful. Your professionalism and service is appreciated!”

Willie Green was also recognized by another ETA customer for being a “really great person to work with. He was very patient and very professional.”

Ellie Behzad and Myriam Nunez were also praised by our ETA customer for being “very helpful on countless occasions. We value both the quick responsiveness and high quality of their on-going work.”

Jim Fitzsimmons was recognized for his hard work supporting the ETA customer in an Office 2010 upgrade.

Our DHS Spectrum customer was very grateful to Gary Chambliss for his work on a project. Thank you, Gary!

Another member of our Spectrum Management team at DHS, Dave Davis, was given great accolades by our customer for his work providing frequency management support to the Secret Service. Our customer added that he “has become an im-portant part of our technical team. He has definitely made a positive impact in how we view spectrum as a vital resource in our protective and investigative mission support.”

DHS IT NOVA team member Eddie Robinson has received many accolades this quarter. Here are some of the responses to his hard work:

“We have been receiving the best in customer service from Eddie Robinson. He is always professional and very knowledgeable. He

always displays patience, will allow you to ask questions, or to direct you to the right source. His welcoming smile puts the icing on the cake.”

“What a joy it is to work with an IT staff person who is very knowledgeable and always goes the extra mile. Eddie addressed a

work stoppage issue I had yesterday and did not give up until it was resolved. I was so impressed by his resolve I had to reach out to you to let you know, he is definitely a keeper and should be encouraged and rewarded for his subject matter expertise and cus-

tomer relations skills. He is the best!!!”

Our proposal manager, Emily (Severy) Vealey married her husband

Kyle Vealey on May 25, 2013. Emily has made a large contribution to

Soft Tech by writing the proposals that gain us new contracts!

Congratulations, Emily and Kyle!

Jean’s life so far has been an adventure that

began when she left her home in Taiwan and

moved to Cheshire, Connecticut just in time

to start 10th grade. She spent the next three

years exploring American culture and partici-

pated in many extracurricular activities. After

high school, she attended Pennsylvania State

University where she received a BA in Pre-

med.

Jean moved to DC in 2006 to peruse a mas-

ter’s degree in Information Technology at

George Washington University. After her

graduation in 2008, she started her career as a

project management assistant for GSA. For

two years, she developed skills in analysis,

requirement gathering, and solution producing.

Jean joined Soft Tech in 2010 and since has

been an essential part of the Soft Tech team at

the NIH.

Jean’s passions outside of IT are sports and the

outdoors. Her athletic interests include tennis,

golf, volleyball, snowboarding and swimming.

Jean is an adventurer at heart, and in her free

time she enjoys travel. She also loves exploring

her surroundings, whether it be mountains,

beaches or cities. Another great passions of

Jean’s is music. She plays the piano in a band

and uses her talents to create harmonies in

melodies and to improvise songs. Jean’s per-

sonality is enjoyed by friends and coworkers

alike, and her infectious laugh is known to fill a

room.
