Chaplai
n Hello everyone, Since Term 3, it has been my pleasure as the new chaplain to spent time with the students at Yanco Public School. As part of the chaplaincy, I spend time with all students in small groups. During chaplaincy groups, we often make something creative, spent time in the veggie garden, or play games. During these activities, the students can talk or ask about anything. Usually the conversations involve school, family, friends, hobbies, and community or life events. In the past two weeks, we have been decorating clothes pegs, while trying to think of the many uses for a

Principal’s News Dear Parents and Carers, Welcome to a very different start to Term 2! We were very fortunate to have such great weather during the holidays to help keep the cabin fever at bay! If you have not done so yet please arrange to call into the school to collect work packs for the beginning two weeks of this term. Please check through the tubs to ensure you have collected all your child’s items. All teachers at YPS are very proud of our students and families for all the great things happening at home to keep pushing learning in the right direction. Well done to all of you! Anzac Day Thank you everyone for your contributions to our Anzac Day Facebook slide show. It was wonderful to see all the efforts you had gone to at home to make sure that Anzac Day was recognised and commemorated at home. Home Learning We will continue to provide both online and paper based learning for home this term. Please contact your child’s teacher if you have any queries. Text message, email and Facebook message are the best options for this. Communication with families We will continue to post regularly to our closed classroom Facebook pages and the NSW DET will also add updates to our school website and at times the school Facebook page. Please keep sharing your home learning to our school mobile phone and Facebook pages. Remember it is essential that class teachers see evidence of your child’s learning. Literacy at Home It is really important that children read at home every day. Please use the online forums we have available and or readers from your child’s book pack (for K.1). There are still many picture books available outside the school office that you can choose from, these are free to keep. Encourage your child to send an email to a family member/school friend they have been unable to visit.
