The purchase of restricted chemicals requires that the Company have a copy of the appropriate licenses on file. Thisshould be done with the filing of theCustomerApplication&Agreement.
CREDIT LINEIn establishing a Credit Line for a Customer, several key factors are considered: length of years in business, past credit history with the Company and from outside credit sources, average payment in relationstoduedate,andvariousfinancialratios calculated for current FinancialStatements.Extracreditmaybeobtainedby furnishing audited statements for the business and by providing financialstatements of the guarantor. It is the Company’s intention to give maximum credit to a customer as long as prompt and correct payments are received according to the terms of invoices. Past dues and change in business conditions can immediately reduce Credit Lines or cause a Customer to be placed on credit hold or COD. Credit Lines are reviewed and adjusted, when warranted.
FINANCIAL STATEMENTSFinancial Statements are required on allcredit lines of $25,000 or more. TheseFinancial Statements should include atleast a summary Balance Sheet and a summary Income Statement for the most recent fiscal year end. For credit lines inexcessof$50,000,FinancialStatementsasofyearendarerequiredannually.Financial
Statements may be mailed directly to the Corporate Credit Dept of BWI Companies, Inc. They will be used for the sole purpose of establishing or maintaining a credit line and this information will be kept strictly confidential. Submission of FinancialStatements does not automatically ensure obtaining the credit line desired.
BASIC TERMS AND CONDITIONSEach sale is complete and binding uponthe customer and BWI at the invoicing location. All charge invoicesaredueandpayable net thirty days from the date of the invoice, unless dated terms are specifiedon the invoice. To receive credit, all damages, shorts and discrepancies must bereportedwithin7daysfromdelivery.Inthe event, the Customer fails to timely and fully pay any outstanding invoice, and such invoice becomes past due and delinquent, BWI may, at its option, declare any or all invoices with dated terms immediately due and payable and all other invoices immediately due and payable, with the right of acceleration of terms of payment. All past due accounts will be charged amonthly service charge at the maximum rate allowed by state law.
WARRANTIESIn lieu of all other warranties, expressed or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantabilityorfitness for aparticularpurpose, and all other obligations or liabilities, the Company warrants to the extent of the purchase price the product purchased as described on the packaging within recognized tolerances. Our liability, whether contractual, for negligence or otherwise, is limited in amount to the purchase price of the product under all circumstances and regardless of the nature, cause or extent of loss, and as a condition to any liability on our part, notificationmustbereceivedbyregisteredmail of any claim that the product is defective within 30 days after the defecthas become apparent.
PAYMENTSThe Company accepts Cash, Check, or Credit Cards (Visa, MasterCard, and Discover). A convenience fee of 2.8%will be added to credit card purchases of $1,000ormore.Also,theCompanyacceptscheck by fax.
RETURN MERCHANDISE POLICYAll returns for creditmust have the priorwrittenapprovalofourofficeandmustbeforjustifiablereasons.Thecreditextendedfor such approved returns will be based on
the invoice value at the time of purchase. All returns will be assessed a handlingfee of 20% unless otherwise authorized.Items that are special ordered, made to customer specifications or non-inventoryor non-stock items, cannot be returned for any credit due to their special nature.
MOTOR FREIGHT SHIPMENTSThe Bill of Lading attached to our invoice indicates that material shipped has now become your property and is an acknowledgement by the transportation company of the receipt of the material in good condition. Safe delivery of the shipment is now the responsibility of the carrier. Please examine the shipment carefully before signing the freight bill. We will be glad to render assistance to trace and recover lost goods.
MOTOR FREIGHT - SHORTAGE OR DAMAGEIf any damage or shortage is discovered and does not agree with the number on the bill of lading, DO NOT accept the shipment without shortage or damage noted on the freight bill by the carrier’s agent. Failureto do so may jeopardize your recovery. If any concealed damage or shortage is discovered when unpacking, leave the material and packing as is and notify the carrier for a concealed damage or shortage inspection. Consult the carrier for disposition of damaged or short articles. Claims for shortage attributed to our count inpackingMUSTBEMADEWITHIN10DAYSfrom date shipment is received and full details must be provided. Claims for loss of damage and transportation charges resulting therefrom, must not be deducted from the invoice, nor payment of invoices withheld awaiting adjustment of such claims, since it is the function of the carrier to guarantee safe delivery.

Project ManagementWhen you choose BWI to build your new greenhouse one of our GTS greenhouse specialist is assigned as your personal project manager. He will coordinate the delivery of materials with you so that everything is on site and ready for our installation crew when they arrive. He will schedule our greenhouse installers and oversee them during every phase of the construction process to make sure the project stays on track and on schedule. Throughout the process he will communicate with you about the various stages of constructionandmakesurethattheprojectiscompletedontimeandinaprofessionalmanner.Fromstarttofinish,thesuccessofyour project will be our primary goal.

Clay flower pots are frequently used for fertilizer measurement by greenhouse operators. The above shows averageweights of several representative fertilizers as measured by standard clay pots when level full. The 3-inch standardis considered to contain 8 fl oz or 1 cup. Since the actual pot size varies with the manufacturer and the volume of agiven weight of fertilizer varies with moisture and compaction, deviations of 10 percent may be expected but up to40 percent may occur.

Normally, lime or dolomite is used to increase the pH. Lime contains mainly calcium carbonate and dolomite contains both calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate. Ground limestone and dolomite are less likely to “burn” plant roots than hydrated lime and is therefore recommended for home use. The amount of these materials necessary to change the pH will depend on the soil. The greater the amount of organic matter or clay in a soil, the more lime or dolomite required to change the pH.
If a soil is too alkaline, determine if it is due to a soil characteristic or lime application. It is quite difficult, if not impossible, to change appreciably the pH of naturally alkaline soils by use of sulfur, ammonium sulfate, or other similar acid-forming materials. If a high pH is due to applied lime or other alkaline additives, sulfur, ammonium sulfate or similar acid-forming materials can be applied.
To decrease soil pH, use super-fine dusting or wettable sulfur. It takes approximately 1/3 the amount of wettable or super-fine sulfur to decrease pH one unit as it does ground limestone or dolomite to raise soil pH. In other words, divide the amounts listed for a particular soil type and size of area by 3 to determine the amount of wettable or super-fine dusting sulfur needed to acidify the soil one pH unit. Not more than once every eight weeks. Remember that in the soil sulfur oxidizes and mixes with water to form a strong acid that can burn the roots of plants - use with caution.
