We would like to extend a huge thank-you to all of the volunteers and exhibitors for making this show and sale possible.

On behalf of the SGBA I would like to welcome all consigners and buy-ers to the 2014 Agribition goat sale. With some changes to the sale this year, buyers will have the opportunity to view and bid online from across Canada on a tremendous offering of animals.

A lot of buzz is in the air around the cattle industry right now, with record-setting prices that lead to more enthusiasm in the indus-try….FINALLY! As a breeder of both goats and cattle, the fact is that the goats have always been able to generate more income than cattle by far—it costs the same to maintain 1 cow as it would 7 does. This year the cows may have surpassed the goats on a dollar per pound basis, but when you put the pencil to the paper, the goats are still able to maintain the lead of putting more money in your pocket, simply by making more marketable pounds in a shorter time frame. If the cattle market stays strong, I would predict that the goat market will rise and gain back its distant lead. So if you are looking to start a herd, add to your herd, need a new herd sire, or buy a new show pro-spect, now is the time, and this is the place! - Landon Spokowski, CWA Goat Sale Manager

Calico Creek Hot Pepper Percentage Doeling (75%)

This super-stylish percentage doeling is

the one that always snags my eye in the

pen and is a hard one to let go. She has a

beautiful head and neck and is well

blended throughout, with very correct conformation and breed

character, and is as feminine as could be. Hot Pepper’s dam is one of

my trusty Nikado Cavalry daughters over a LaMancha cross doe—so

this doeling is going to milk!

great bucks Wide Load and Ripper

on the sire side. His maternal side

goes back to the very famous Powell/

retaining a half brother to Tuscan

her dam is a black headed Ollie daughter

Sequence and Splash!! Sequence was not

only the 2012 Percentage show champion

but she is now a CMGA Permanent

champion. Frosting is being offered only

because I will be retaining her twin sister.

By Agribition, Frosting will either be bred

to DSM D7 Rip Tide, a young imported

buckling sired by TLB Ripper over a

Powell Holman Bingo daughter or to a

young homegrown buckling, Calico Creek

Precision, sired by Maul Red Hot Pepper

over Kae Ronne Walidah, who produced

last year’s Agribition Grand Champion

This eye catching buckling was

purchased from High Octane Boers

in early 2014 with the purpose of

introducing some new blood into

my colored breeding program. It

was always my intention to breed

him and then offer him up for sale

this fall, however, if I didn’t have

so many bucks already I would

have definitely reconsidered and

kept this boy in my herd! He has

bone, breed character, muscle, and

a great disposition. Paul also spoke

very highly of his dam. I’m really

Du Biquet Protocole Purebred Buckling

We are excited to offer a young buck that we find

most promising. He has all the ingredients to fill up

the conformation card. We like his massive bone structure , his good & strong feet and legs,

able to support him while he grows older and bigger, and his very leveled top line. His bite is

on target, the scrotum is perfect, his teats are 2 & 2 well separated and he has a very long

twist. We are proud to have produced such a good buckling and his part in any herd should be

very productive. The genetics that preceded him permits us to sincerely wish for the best. Du

Biquet Protocole was Reserve Junior champion at Toronto’s Royal Winter Fair, where the

judge commented: “you bring this buck back next year, he’ll be Grand Champion”.

Tempete. Both champions

many times over. Strong

and productive mothering

lines. Her twin sister is

being retained in our herd.

Blackmoon (not pictured here) was

shown 4 times this summer and was

1st place twice. She is large for her

age with impressive body capacity.

She is very angular and has a long

neck and elegant style. She has been

exposed to US import sire, Altrece

Cosmopolitan who has sired an

impressive number of high quality

does that do extremely well in the

show ring and in the milking

parlour.

Trendy is a very correct doeling

showing tremendous body capacity in

her width of chest floor and carrying

that through her barrel and width of

rump and eschutcheon. Her strong feet

and legs and correct angulation in the

rear legs are trademarks from her sire.

Her smooth blending and dairy style

come from both dam and sire.

Rocking J Bar Roxbury Buckling

Born: April 12, 2014

Roxbury was born in our cold barn and at 2 weeks

old was sent outside into our dry lot along with all

the other does and their kids. Upon weaning he

continued to be raised outside and can handle what

our Canadian weather throws at him. He has a

good bite and scrotum. Born at 8.5 lbs, he

weighed in at 102 lbs at 5 months. Roxbury is a

very masculine looking buck with a well rounded

roman nose and a great horn set. He has exceptional muscling over

his body especially through his hind quarters, as well as a deep

muscular twist. He is wide in the front with shoulders that are well

blended. He carries him self on very correct set of feet and legs. If

we didn’t have so many sisters, this is the kind of buck we’d keep

for ourselves. Roxbury with his unique genetic background and

great conformation would be an asset to most any breeding

program.

This doeling reminds me of

her mother when she was

young. She is very compact

and level. Her dam, when

weighed this summer,

tipped the scales at 264 lbs!

She is one of biggest does on

the place. Her dam has

kidded two times now, all

doeling both times. Her

dam is a easy keeper and

milks well. This doeling

should cross well with any other bloodline.
