Christian discipleship programThe English Handong Discipleship School is one of the most powerful, memorable and life changing experiences at Handong Global University according to many of our graduating students. EHDS involves well known speakers, experienced small group discipleship leaders, as well as creative and fun applications and activities. The discipleship school is designed to transform your heart and mind with the knowledge and character of Christ even as we encourage students towards true friendship and brotherly love within a small discipleship group and the larger family of believers. However, our training would not be complete without encouraging disciples to become part of Christ’s greatest act of devotion and love to humanity. With acts of kindness, brotherly love, and the sharing of Christ’s message of forgiveness, love and eternal hope we spread out across the world on Christ Jesus’ great mission to express God’s love to the world.

Now is the time! Once you leave Handong your unlikely to have the time or the opportunity to attend such an extensive and well developed Christian

discipleship program like this one, especially not for this small of a fee. Join us for the English Handong Discipleship School (EHDS).

Instructions:

1. Complete the application form.2. Read and sign the covenant.3. Get a recommendation from your mentor, professor, or pastor.

***The recommendation must be signed and sealed*** 4. Print out your completed application form, recommendation, and your

signed covenant and submit them to the Handong International Ministries Office (Hyoam Chapel, 3rd floor), with the W50,000 application fee.

5. Pay the EHDS enrollment fee (300,000) by wire to the following bank account:KB bank (국민은행) 821701-01-499755 (CHOWON NAM (HIC)) by May 18.

6. Be prepared to be contacted for a short interview in early May.

***EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT: If you submit your full application before May 4, application fee is waived***

Tuition:

- The entire EHDS fee consists of the W50,000 application fee and the W600,000 tuition fee (total W650,000)

- Meals, lodging and transportation TO Jeju are included in the fee.- Outreach funds are NOT included. Students must raise their own

outreach expenses.- EHDS enrollment fee (W300,000) MUST be submitted by May 18. The rest

(W 300,000) must be submitted by May 30.- HIC will offer a Fundaraising Session (Sunday, May 4), teaching students

how to raise funds, write prayer letters, etc. - The use of pocket money will NOT be allowed during EHDS. We will take

care of meals, snacks and all other expenses.

EHDS Outreaches

After the lecture phase of the program, all students will go on an outreach for up to 10 days to practice and apply what they have learned. We strongly encourage that all students start praying about their outreach destination before starting EHDS.

Current possible outreach destinations include:

- Philippines- Korea- Japan - Mongolia

If you feel God leading you serve one of these countries, please circle it. In order to go on outreach, it is important that all students have valid passports and reentry permits. Please check the expiration date on your passport. ***Students are responsible for finding out whether or not they require a visa, and for obtaining the visa.***

English Handong Discipleship SchoolCovenant Contract

Our discipleship course requires students to separate themselves from their normal everyday world in order to more fully focus their attention and thoughts towards the things of God and the Spirit of God at work in them. Therefore, please read this covenant carefully as all students are required to sign this covenant in order to participate in this discipleship school. We want to encourage you in this; many past students questioned whether they could make this commitment and almost all have been amazed at the blessing and the freedom they experienced at letting go of the world and letting God have their undivided attention for this six weeks. (Please talk with us if you have any concerns)

1. With my enrollment in EHDS, I promise to pay the enrollment fee related to this training and to be responsible for all my financial needs for the duration of this course.

2. I will actively participate in all aspects of the program (dorm room arrangements, lectures, small group, activities, mission preparation and trip, etc.) without reservation or complaint.

3. I agree to a temporary separation from any current girlfriend/boyfriend relationships for the six week duration of my training. (this includes physical, email and phone contact)

4. I will not engage in behavior that may lead to the formation of a campus couple relationship for the duration of my training. This includes people inside and outside this program. I will focus solely on God and my relationship with Him.

5. I will abide by all the rules and regulations set up within this program, and I will comply with the consequences should I break any of them.

6. I commit to separate myself from all electronic devices including but not limited to cell phones, computers, televisions, music/video players, Ipads, PDAs, etc. for the duration of this training program.

7. I commit to not spend any money for personal purposes (e.g. shopping) that is not approved by the EHDS director.

WAIVER FORM

Please give the form to you professor or pastor in an envelope. Ask your professor or pastor to sign the envelope, then TAPE the envelope over the signature. Please hand it in to us in the HIC office SEALED.

You are NOT allowed to see the recommendation.
