TEAM QUOTAS & RULES

Refer to IFSC Rules, pay attention to the following points:

• LICENSES: For Youth Events the following age group applies (Ref Rules 13.2.2): o Youth B: competitors shall have been born either 14 or 15 calendar years before the year of the

competition

o Youth A: competitors eligible to register for this Age Group shall have been born either 16 or 17 calendar years before the year of the competition.

o Juniors: competitors eligible to register for this Age Group shall have been born either 18 or 19 calendar years before the year of the competition.

Only competitors who hold a valid International Licence shall be eligible to compete in an IFSC competition.

• TEAM OFFICIALS: Member federations may register up to a maximum of five (5) team officials who shall be granted free entry into the competition venue. These officials shall be registered via the IFSC website, must be in possession of a valid international licence and specifically nominated for one of the following roles:

o One (1) team manager; o Two (2) team coaches; o Two (2) qualified medical or para-medical personnel.

National Team comprising (where applicable): • Any current Adult/Youth World/Continental Champion (who shall be registered for the

Discipline in which they are champion); and • In addition to (a), a further 5 (4 for World Youth Championships) competitors for each

Category and Discipline of the competition.

• The presence of all persons registered pursuant to Articles 12.4.1 and 12.4.2 must be confirmed: • By the attendance of at least one team official or competitor at the competition venue

at the hour specified on the information sheet provided by the Organiser; or • By SMS to the IFSC Technical Delegate and/or the Jury President, not later than the

time specified on the information sheet provided by the Organiser, only where exceptional circumstances such as strikes, traffic delay, etc. prevent attendance in person. For more safety, please double-send the information to sport@ifsc-climbing.org and to the IFSC Technical Delegate.

• Note: Depending on the schedule of the competition, supplementary Registration Meetings may be held for events commencing after the first day of the competition.

• Whereabouts: National Federations are requested to send to the IFSC a copy of the competitor list with the following information:

- Phone number, email and hotel/accommodation (address and phone number) of Team Manager. If no Team Manager, please nominate an athlete from each Team.

• To get to Noumea:

There is no WIFI available at Tontouta airport and overseas mobiles might not have any network there, Please make sure you arranged your transportation before coming.

Option 1 : shuttle buses available at arrival terminal

Arc en Ciel (one of the main shuttle companies in Noumea) offers free transportation (free for competitors only) from the airport to any hotel in Noumea - this offer includes your departure as well.

If you are interested, please fulfill the booking form on the competition website www.escalade.nc/WYCH before 1st September.

There are two rental companies at the airport :

The bus service organised during the competition will stop at all the accommodations listed below (or close by

at least) EXCEPT Mocambo and Stanley hotels.

Charges will apply for food and transportation to the climbing wall. We are still working on recruiting host families. A list of family’s contacts will be posted on our website (www.escalade.nc) on June, 31st.

BE AWARE that food will not be included.

This accommodation is part of the “Solidarity Project”. Please, contact the IFSC who will allocate the places.

• Climate September is a transition month between cool and hot season. It rains less and less, day temperature starts to warm up (to 25°C) but it still quite cold at night (down to 10°C). Be careful, the air is most of the time very humid so even if the temperatures might not seem that hot or cold it can be very surprising. Sea water temperature will be around 23°C.

OUTDOOR TRIP ORGANISED AFTER THE COMPETITION For those who desire to discover our gorgeous limestone outdoor spot in Northern Caledonia (called « Roches de Notre Dame » located in Koumac, West Coast), the Regional French Comity organizes a four-day-trip from Thursday, 25th to Sunday, 28th. As there is a bit of driving to get there (about 9 hours both ways), you will only climb on Friday and Saturday. The organisation includes : transportation, accommodation, breakfast and dinner free of charges.
