What is APRICOT?The Asia Pacific Regional Internet Conference on Operational Technologies (APRICOT) is a unique and successful education forum for Internet builders in the region to learn from their peers and other leaders in the Internet community. The world’s key Internet experts are invited to conduct seminars, workshops, tutorials, conference sessions, and Birds of
a Feather (BoF) sessions for those who can most benefit from their knowledge.
APRICOT was established in 1996 and is a vendor-neutral forum that focuses on the provision of high-quality, content-rich information.
APNIC 37Since 2012, APRICOT has been co-organized with the Asia Pacific Network Information Centre (APNIC). Attendees will be able to attend the APNIC Members Meeting, a forum for discussions about APNIC’s
operations and activities, and the Policy Special Interest Group (SIG), a forum to propose and discuss Internet resourcing policies, free of charge.

What to expect?The APRICOT 2014 summit is a two-week program that consists of a workshop week and a conference week. The workshop week features intensive and hands-on sessions to provide the region’s operators with the fundamental knowledge required to build and manage their networks. Sessions typically include:
■ Network management
■ Network security
■ IPv4/IPv6 BGP routing
The Conference week consists of a variety of sessions to help the community build and manage the Internet. These typically include:
■ Tutorials, such as Internet Routing, Network Management, and ISP/IXP Network design. International guests and APNIC Trainers provide hands-on training at these sessions to help the community build robust and scalable infrastructure.
■ IPv6 sessions, which discuss issues related to IPv6 deployment, and feature real-world deployment content.
■ The Asia Pacific Operators Forum (APOPS), which is a forum for discussing operational issues relevant to the region.
■ Lightning talks, which are a series of quick presentations on topics of interest.
■ Birds of a Feather (BoF) meetings, which are informal gatherings where participants can exchange information and discuss new ideas.
■ The Policy SIG, where anyone can submit a proposal and have their say in how Internet resources are managed.
■ The AMM, which is a forum for APNIC Members to learn about APNIC’s operations and activities.
■ Networking events to make new contacts and build new relationships.
