Co-op LogbookThere are two crucial parts in your logbook:Record of Daily ActivitiesMonthly Summary + Assessment
Record of Daily ActivitiesWrite (point form) your daily activities (even if it is a routine)Attach relevant diagrams / pictures / datasheet whenever possible.
Monthly AssessmentsDuring your co-op, your employer must assess you on a monthly basisEach monthly assessments are worth 30 marks = 30%Example of calculation:Month 1 : 28 / 30Month 2 : 27 / 30Month 3 : 29 / 30Month 4 : 26 / 30Average marks : (28+27+29+26) / 30 = 27.5%

Co-op Report 40%A report is a document summarizing all of your activities during your coop program.
A report is like a thesis: it must be written according to a certain set of standard.
There is a format for the report, and you must follow them when writing it. Most students receive low mark for their coop because of report.

Co-op Report (Contd)The first page of the report should be printed on coloured paper. The colour for each program:
SubmissionsUpon returning to the university, you must submit the following documents to the faculty:LogbookReportEmployer Evaluation Form
All documents are to be submitted to the coop coordinator before 4pm on Monday, 25th Jan 2016.
10% from the total marks will be deducted for late submissions, for each day late.
Things to NoteAbsenteeismEvery absence must be justified in writing (formal letter).The letter must be signed by your employer upon returning to the company.Please note that some company will deduct your allowance on absence.
MC casesAvoid taking MC if you can.Attach the MC in your logbook
Things to Note (contd)Irrelevance of co-op.If your co-op is not at all relevant to the engineering field, then you will get a maximum grade of B+.Where possible, try to negotiate with your employer in assigning engineering/technical related tasks.
Aggressive behaviorsDo not provoke or violently argue with your superior.Try being diplomatic; even though you are scolded for no reason.
Things to Note (contd)ExpectationsAny engineering backgroundDo not hope for the moon and the sun, because if you do, and you do not get it, you will be sad.Expect nothing more nor less: learn to accept and make use of your coop time.
Change of CompanyGenerally, you are not allowed to change your company without permission.Please contact faculty/CECS staff if you have problems.
