GENERAL REGULATIONS: ELIGIBILITY Skate Canada rules and regulations will apply throughout the competition except where otherwise provided in this Announcement. Rule amendments passed at Skate Canada ACGM as well as changes which may be made in ISU regulations and which are applicable to Skate Canada sanctioned competitions shall also apply. See Rule 1602 (8) (a) & (b). Rule numbers throughout are from the 2002 Rulebook using 2001 through to 2014 amendment.

Skate Canada – Eastern Ontario extends this invitation to all eligible persons in figure skating in Canada and the United States. USFSA members must hold USFSA test qualifications equivalent to the Skate Canada Test qualifications specified in this Announcement. Skate Canada rules and regulations will apply throughout the competition except where otherwise provided in this Announcement. The Host Committee is prepared to attempt to accommodate the USFSA members by modifying the content for specific events as set out below where the required content for such events differs from the required content for equivalent USFSA events. Specific requests should be made to the competition registrar.

QUALIFICATIONS: Age Qualifications shall apply as of July 1, 2015.

Test Qualifications shall apply as of July 1, 2015. All skaters are permitted to “skate up” one level; that is to say, enter an event one level above the level for which they are actually qualified to enter and they may compete at either of these levels but not both.

TEST REGISTRATION: All Registration information on Testing can be found in APPENDIX ‘A’ attached to this announcement

PLANNED PROGRAM: Planned Program Sheets can be accessed at the “Competition [Event]” web page on the Skate Canada-Eastern Ontario website www.skate-eos.on.ca – you are required to print your Planned Program sheet and submit at on-site registration. One program per page (Short and Free requires two sheets).

RESULTS: The Cumulative Points System (CPC) will be used for STAR 5 & up.

DRAWS – STARTING ORDERS: The skating order shall be determined by random draw in each event. The starting order for the first segment of the event will be available prior to the start of the competition at “Competition [Event]” web page on the Skate Canada-Eastern Ontario website www.skate-eos.on.ca.

DRAWS FOR SUBSEQUENT PARTS OF AN EVENT: The starting order of competitor’s subsequent parts of an event will be in reverse grouping order according to each competitor’s placement in the first segment. Skaters will be drawn randomly within the appropriate grouping according to placement in the first segment.

REGISTRATION: Registration may be limited if entries exceed the amount of ice time available. ONLINE REGISTRATION: • All registrations must be completed online by Wednesday, September 2, 2015 at 4 pm. It is important

to note that once the deadline date and time has been reached online registration/payment will not be available.

An event will be cancelled if there is only one entry. The EO Competition Event Committee (CEC) Liaison and the EO Officials Chair reserve the right to limit the number of entries in any event as well as to combine or subdivide events as numbers may warrant. Late entries will be accepted at the discretion of the CEC Liaison and the Technical Representative.

REFUNDS OF ENTRY FEES FOR SECTION PARTNERED EVENTS: • When skaters are advised prior to departing for a Section partnered competition that the event that

they have registered in has been cancelled, the skaters may be given the option of either skating an exhibition (time permitting) and use of a practice session at the discretion of the Tech Rep for half the entry fee or withdraw from the event and receive a full refund.

o If the skaters choose to skate an exhibition and, due to unforeseen circumstances, after arriving at the competition are denied the opportunity to do so, they shall receive a full refund.

• When, due to unforeseen circumstances, skaters are advised at a competition that their event has been

cancelled, they may be offered the opportunity to skate an exhibition (time permitting) and use of a practice session at the discretion of the Tech Rep and receive a full refund.

• If an entry is withdrawn before the closing date of entry, a refund of the full entry fee less a $25.00

administration fee will be given. The administration fee for all refunds will be set at $25.00 per event (singles, dance or pairs) to a maximum of $50.00 per person, dance, or pair team.

• No refunds will be given after the closing date of entry.

ACCREDITATION FOR EVENTS – COACHES: In order to receive accreditation at the competition, all coaches must meet the standards for coaches set out in Rule 2402 and 2408 as outlined below.

COACHES MUST: • Be NCCP Coach – Primary STARSkate Certified (Level 1) minimum • Be a current coaching member of Skate Canada • Hold a valid First Aid Certificate • Register in person and show their Professional Coach Membership Card which includes their picture • Coaches must wear their Professional Coach Membership Card at all times.

New Coaches or foreign coaches, who do not meet the above criteria, will be accredited only if they qualify in accordance with Skate Canada Policies and Procedures.

USE OF AN INDIVIDUALS LIKENESS OR PERFORMANCE: Any person who enters competitions, either sanctioned by the Association or under the control and/or supervision of the Association, or who takes Association tests, by entering such competitions or by taking such tests, grants to the Association the right to use, in such form and for such time period as the Association may, in its sole discretion choose, without payment of any fee or charge, any photographs, images, likenesses, videotapes or any other recordings or reproductions of the person or his/her performance for the purpose of furthering the objectives of the Association, including, without limiting the generality of the foregoing:

• For the training, education and development of skaters, coaches and officials; and • For Association promotional purposes.

MUSIC: • All Music used must be in the public domain or covered by the Performing Rights Society. • Teams that have music composed especially for their programs, either in wholly or in part shall

be responsible for obtaining a written release from the composer for the use of such music on radio and television, or appropriate clearance from the Performing Rights Society.

• Music must be registered at Music Registration at least one hour before the event.

TECHNICAL ADVISEMENT FROM THE EO MUSIC & ANNOUNCING COMMITTEE o For optimum playback of the music recorded on CDs it is recommended that the music be recorded

(written) to the CD in either Compact Disc Audio (CDA) or Wave file (wav) format. Music recorded in MP3 or I-Tune format may not play from the EO music playback equipment.

o Standard Specifications for CDs: Each entry must provide 2 CDs for the competition upon

registration. One for Competition (Marked ‘Master’) and one for back up (marked ‘copy’). o Only one (1) program shall be recorded on each CD o The start of the music shall be recorded on the CD with less than 2 seconds of lead in o Team’s name followed by music time (not skating time) shall be clearly printed on side one of the CD

• Each CD shall be enclosed in its plastic container and marked as noted below: o Skater’s name o Club o Event o Actual music playing time (not skating time nor the event time)

AWARDS: Awards will be presented as per Regulation 7000-E-1.5 of the Skate Canada Event Management Handbook and the Skate Canada-Eastern Ontario Policy Book Section 5. Skaters must be in skating attire and skates for all presentations.

EVENT SCHEDULE: A finalized schedule of events, Skater List, and, Starting Order (first event only) will be provided at registration on-site and will be posted at the “Competition [Event]” web page on the Skate Canada-Eastern Ontario website www.skate-eos.on.ca prior to the competition. Events may proceed up to one-half hour prior to the published schedule.

LIABILITY: Skate Canada, the Section and the Host Committee accept no liability for bodily or personal injury, or for property loss or damage incurred by participants and officials. As a condition of and in consideration of their entries in the competition, all participants and their parents or guardians, shall be deemed to agree to assume all risks or injuries to the competitor’s person and property resulting from, or caused by, or connected with, the conduct and management of the competition and to release any and all claims they may have against the officials, Skate Canada, the Section and the Volunteer Team and their officers and their entries shall be accepted on these conditions.

2015 SKATE ONTARIO SUPER SERIES FINAL Skate Ontario is pleased to announce that the final event in their 2015 Skate Ontario Super Series will take place during the 2015 Autumn Skate Competition. Pre-Novice to Senior Skaters who registered for the Series will have had scores added together from two approved summer competitions. The top 12 Singles, 10 Dance and 8 Pair teams will be invited to compete in the Super Series Final. The skaters must skate both Short/Pattern and Free programs. Skaters placing 1st, 2nd and 3rd in the 2015 Skate Ontario Super Series Final event will be awarded cash bursaries of $500, $300, $200 respectively. The winners will be awarded the title of “Skate Ontario Super Series Champion.”

Individuals will need prior approval to attend and photograph skaters at Section Partnered events. Accredited individuals will be given access to the boards, the location to be at the discretion and under the direct supervision of the Technical Representative for the event. Accredited individuals will not interfere with coach skater communications during warm-up periods. Pictures of skaters and or coaches will not be allowed prior to or after the performance. Any written complaints of interference will result in the loss of accreditation for future events.

The following is a guideline for appropriate accreditation:

• Individuals from News media must submit appropriate accreditation for review • An individual representing skating club parents must submit written permission from these

parents with request. • Pictures of skaters will not be made available for sale.

Skate Canada-Eastern Ontario adopts Skate Canada’s policy on the use of cameras at Section Partnered skating competitions: • Ticket holders are only permitted to use cameras or video cameras at an event for personal use

only. • Taping of athletes/teams other than family members without express written permission from the

parent/guardian/age of majority athlete is prohibited.

• Taping of entire flights and/or events is not permitted. • The camera’s lens must not be larger than 200mm. • No flash photography is allowed. • Any resale of photography or video is strictly prohibited.
