The Memphis Jewish Community Center’s Camp is focused around meeting the developmental needs of our campers. We are a nurturing community which creates a safe and fun environment for our campers, with Jewish values at our core. Our caring staff fosters every camper’s self-esteem and confidence, and our wide variety of activities inspires campers to make new friends and learn new skills.

Our staff is dedicated to ensuring a safe and fun summer for all our campers. We have an excellent staff-to-camper ratio, which cultivates a positive environment for everyone at camp. Each staff member is hired based on education, previous camp experience, and ability to work with children. All staff participates in orientation, which focuses on safety, the most effective ways to work with children, programming, leadership, and how to make this the best summer possible.

Their dedication, enthusiasm, and creative approaches to introducing Israeli culture give campers a strong understanding of their connections to the Jewish homeland. Hosting a scout is a great opportunity to expose your child(ren) to Israeli culture and to build relationships with wonderful, lifelong friends. SUNSCREEN POLICY MJCC camp participants spend a lot of time outdoors. We follow these policies:• Parents/Guardians are responsible for

applying the first layer of sunscreen prior to morning drop-off.

• Parents/Guardians are responsible for providing one sealed container per child with enough sunscreen for later day applications.

• Camp staff are responsible for ensuring thorough follow-up applications after 1 hour in the water, after 2 hours of activity in the sun (due to perspiration), and/or any other time as needed.

• The MJCC reserves the right to disallow anyone to participate in the camp program, at any time, for failure to comply.

Please note that these decisions were made to protect your child. Furthermore, our staff members have been trained on this subject and understand their responsibilities in observing this policy. I understand that I must apply sunscreen for my child. If my child does not have sunscreen on, they will not be able to participate in outdoor camp activities.
