HEALTH/MEDICAL INFORMATIONNH state law requires all campers to have a completed health form on file with the YMCA PRIOR to attending camp. This form requires all immunization dates and a physical exam within 2 years prior to attending camp for children ages 6 and over and must be signed by the attending physician. Campers under age 6 must have yearly exams. Such forms are given by the doctor’s office, not the YMCA. Forms must be dated after Sep. 1, 2013 for children 6 years and up and dates Sept. 1, 2014 for children 5 years and younger. Forms are due to your child’s camp administrator by your tuition balance due date (the Friday prior to the camp week). Registration is not complete without these forms being on file for EACH camper AND balance paid.

CAMP SARGENT

ABOUT CAMP SARGENT. Located on beautiful Lake Naticook in Merrimack, NH just minutes from the Merrimack and Nashua Y, Camp Sargent sits on 22 acres. Since 1924, Camp Sargent has offered the Greater Nashua community a quality day camping program for boys and girls 5-16 years old . Sessions range from one to eleven weeks of traditional camp activities to more involved specialty camps that provide more time for campers to dive deeper into what interests them most. Regardless of the type of camp, staff always stress safety, teamwork and work towards each camper building self confidence and making friends.

LICENSING AND ACCREDITATION. Camp Sargent is accredited by the American Camp Association (ACA). “ACA Accreditation is a process during which a camp undergoes a thorough review of its operation-from staff qualifications and training to emergency management-to ensure compliance with more than 300 standards. ACA is the only nationally accrediting body for all types of camps. ACA standards are recognized by courts of law and government regulators as the standards for best practices in camp.”-American Camp Association. In addition to being ACA accredited, Camp Sargent is licensed by the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (DES). OUR STAFF is CPR & First Aid certified and complete a 16 hour orientation which covers various adolescent behavioral issues, small group activities, rainy day activities as well as goals and objectives for camper development. All staff are hired based on prior experience working with school-age children and proven ability to lead a group in a safe and fun environment. DISCOVERY CAMP

Explorers(Grades 1-3) weeks 2-10Y Family Member: $165 Y Youth Member: $250 Community: $330 Inspire your creativity and discover the magic of the world around you! Each week at Discovery Camp, we’ll invent, explore, and create as we stretch our imaginations. Along with water FUN, crafts, sports and teambuilding activities each day, camp-ers will launch into daily Discovery Zones to go on an archaeo-logical dig, travel the world, design, build and more. Each week will feature a special guest or activity related to the camp’s theme!

At the heart of Discovery Camp is a joy of learning and exploration while having fun, making friends and being surrounded by caring role models. Each activity at Discovery Camp integrates Science, Social Studies, Math and Physical Activity. Though the camp is designed after the STEM (Science Technology Engineering and Math) core model of learn-ing, we are intentional in that the overall day look and feels like camp, and not a classroom. There’s no such thing as summer learning loss at the YMCA’s Discovery Camp, where igniting curious young minds happens every day!

Campers will go on hunts to explore and discover what it’s really like to be a Bird, Bat and Bug. Both physically exploring around the YMCA and using our iPads to dive even deeper into understanding the amazing world around and under our feet, campers may never want to come back indoors!

Construction Camp (grades 1-3)Old school tools for new school learning. We know that children are born to build and at Construction Camp children will use a broad range of materials and tools. We study the natural and man-made world around us, while learning to work individ-ually as well as part of a team. Our goal is to share the joy of building, revising, and repairing. Creativity and problem solving are fostered. If your child can imagine it, we'll help him/her build it—safely and with adult guidance.

Ancient times (grades 1-3)Examine Prehistoric animals; learn the proper techniques of unearthing fossils and better understand how ancient civilizations were able to build structures that still amaze us today! All while engag-ing in hands on activities!

FUNky Science (grades 1-3)Through physical, life, environmental, behavior and social sciences, campers in this extra-ordinary camp will participate in fun and thought inspiring experiments and creations. Please contact Josh Schupack ([email protected] or Larry Harding ([email protected]) for more information.

What is the quest? The premise is simple. Every week, we will work to build a cohesive and engaged group of teens through games, team building activities and challenges. On the Friday of each week, we will take a trip to have our teens experi-ence something new and exciting. Throughout the week, teens will work together to complete tasks in order to get clues of what the trip will be, with the big reveal the day before. Imagine a treasure hunt, where each day you get closer and closer to your goal.
