A human development measure of the national
government that provides conditional cash grants
to the poorest of the poor, to improve the health,
nutrition, and the education of children aged 0-18
years old.

Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps)
Program Conditions:
For parents/Guardians/Pregnant Women
1.Pregnant women must avail pre- and post-natal care, and be
attended during childbirth by a trained professional;
2.Parents or guardians must attend the Family Development
Sessions (FDS), which include topics on responsible
parenting, health, and nutrition.

For Children
1.Children-beneficiaries aged 0-5 years old must receive regular
preventive health check-ups and vaccines;
2.Children-beneficiaries aged 6-14 years old must receive
deworming pills twice a year and;
3.Children-beneficiaries aged 3-18 years old must enroll in
school, and maintain an attendance of at least 85% of class
days every month.

who are affected by certain genetic, metabolic, or
infectious conditions that may lead to mental retardation
or morbidity if left untreated.

Glucose-6-phosphate Dehydrogenase (G6PD)

Expanded Program on Immunization (EPI)
One of the programs of the Department of Health (DOH)
established in 1976 to ensure that infants/children and mothers
have access to routinely recommended infant/childhood
vaccines.
A child is considered fully immunized (FULLY IMMUNIZED
CHILD) if he/she had BCG, measles, and three doses each of
DPT, OPV and Hepa-B vaccines before the first birthday.

Diarrhea
It is the abnormal frequent discharge of three or more
semisolid or fluid fecal matter/stools per day lasting for no
longer than 14 days.
Giving Zinc in addition to the reformulated Oral
Rehydration Salt (ORS) Solution has been shown to
significantly reduce the duration and severity of diarrhea
compared to ORS alone.

Deworming

Deworming Mass Deworming – giving of antihelminthic or deworming drugs
to an entire group of people without prior diagnosis of current
infection to get rid of intestinal parasites which include
hookworm, ascaris, and trichuris.
For preschoolers(1-4 years old), deworming is done during the
nationwide Garantisadong Pambata (GP) campaign in April and
October. For the school children (5-12 years old), deworming is
scheduled every January and July

Summary
Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps)
8 out of 10 households are aware of Pantawid Pamilyang Pilipino Program (4Ps) for the whole Philippines.
In CALABARZON, awareness was highest in Quezon. Among the eligible households, about one-fifth (26%) were beneficiaries. From 2013 to 2015, beneficiaries of 4Ps increased and the difference between
the two survey periods was statistically significant.

There was an increase of children, 0-71 months old, who underwent newborn screening from 2013 to 2015 and the increase was statistically significant.
In CALABARZON, children who underwent newborn screening was higher in Batangas and lower in Quezon.

Expanded Program on Immunization
In general, 6 out of 10 children, 12-23 months of ages were fully immunized. In CALABARZON, higher percentage of children who are fully immunized was
noted in Cavite and Quezon, and lower in Rizal.
Vitamin A Supplementation
7 out of 10 children participated in Vitamin A Supplementation. In CALABARZON, higher percentage was observed in Rizal and lower in Quezon.

Summary Micronutrient Supplementation
4 out 0f 10 children have tried the Micronutrient Powder (MNP) among those mothers who are aware of MNP.
Diarrhea
Among children aged 0-59 months, about 12% experienced diarrhea during the past 2 weeks prior to date of collection.
By single age, high percentage who had diarrhea was observed among 6-11 months and 12-23 months old children.

By provincial statistics, children in Rizal had higher episodes of diarrhea while Quezon had the lowest.
Deworming
12 to 71 months For the entire Philippines, 5 out of 10 children were dewormed. In CALABARZON, Batangas and Cavite had the most number of dewormed
children.

Summary Deworming
6 to 12 years old A significant increase of dewormed children was noted between 2013 to 2015
survey period. A good picture of participation in deworming program was noted for the
whole Philippines. In CALABARZON, more than 80% of participants was noted in most of the
provinces except in Rizal.
