!!Local!Mission!Trips!Local!Mission!Trips!!If!you!think!it's!an!impossibility,!come!and!find!out!otherwise!Your!week!long!summer!Mission!trip!@@Ahave!you!thought!that!it!could!be!in!our!diocese?The Church of the Messiah (which had never experienced any sort of a mission trip prior to 2007) has

now!parKcipated!in!8!different!mission!trips!which!have!all!been!within!a!two!hour's!drive!of!the!church.What we have also realized is that Mission Trips are not just for teenagers. We have had more adults

than!youth!each!Kme!and!on!some!trips!there!have!only!been!adults.The Why, Where, What, How quesKons will be discussed at the workshop. Examples of trips using an

!!A!Pilgrimage!to!Taizé:!For!youth,!young!adults,!and!adults!(June!24th!A!July!3rd)This trip to Taizé, France will be for youth group members age 15 through 18 (along with their

chaperones), young adults age 19 to 33, and a limited number of older adults. The purpose of the journeyis to find Christ in the meditaKon and chants offered by the community of monasKc brothers of Taizé. Aweek long retreat includes daily prayer, work assignments, fellowship with young people from all over theworld, and exploring God's presence in many ChrisKan faith tradiKons. Applicants are selected by wriKnga personal reflecKon of the benefits this trip will provide to them. Cost to be determined (approx. $1,000– including scholarship from the Bishop according to need); each candidate is encouraged to exploremany sources for funding assistance including fundraising at their home churches. province, drawn from one or more religious or spiritual insKtuKons and from the wider public. MeeKngregularly, these people build a team of people commiced to protecKng the earth. Every year, Circlemembers make and keep two simple commitments. First, they help their congregaKons put their beliefsinto acKon for the earth. Then, they come together on a campaign or project in the wider community.Each!Circle!defines!the!nature!of!its!work!and!shares!it!with!GreenFaith’s!internaKonal!network.In 2016, GreenFaith will be launching Circles in a select number of communiKes within the diocese.
