ENHANCED GOVERNANCE

INNOVATION: EDF R&D LAB

NEW TEST EQUIPMENT

Citelum, the start-up Kawantech, leading laboratories and Toulouse

Métropole are joining forces within the Hi'Light consortium to

develop high-performance and energy-saving lighting that

automatically adapts the beam to the surrounding environment

and urban area events (cars, bicycles, pedestrians, etc.) thanks to

its smart technology.

Beyond this innovative lighting project currently being trialled in

Toulouse, a system to detect parking spaces near lighting points

equipped with these next generation sensors is also being

developed and will be subsidised by the “Caisse des Dépôts et

Consignations” as part of the project “Ville De Demain II” (City of

Tomorrow II).

With the new EDF laboratory, Citelum has now new test

equipment that can reproduce the functioning of any street

lighting network and incorporate any type of lighting or

associated control and management equipment.

This thus enables Citelum to assess the benefits of lighting

technology, in terms of energy efficiency and the impact on the

electrical grid, and to offer both its public and private customers,

reliable, energy saving and adjustable solutions that can be

incorporated into a smart and eco-responsible urban system.
