2016 Cable Splicing Courses The electrical training ALLIANCE will be offering medium voltage (2,001-35,000 volts) cable splicing classes at several different locations in 2016. Module I, of the cable splicing courses, covers basic cable preparation and other fundamental topics pertinent to cable splicing. After successfully completing Module I, subsequent Modules may be taken in any order. The National Cable Splicers Certification Board inc. has been conducting both the written and practical certification examinations following the Module IV classes. Both Modules I and IV are perfect preparation courses for the written and practical NCSCB inc. examinations. If you are interested in taking the NCSCB inc. certification examinations, you must register separately for these exams at the NCSCB inc. website at www.ncscbinc.org. See cable splicing course information below. Watch the electrical training ALLIANCE website for additional classes. Contact Steve Anderson at 301.715.2340 with any questions. Cable Splicing Module I Prerequisites: None Length: 36 hours Overview: This is the first module of the electrical training ALLIANCE’s (NJATC) six-module, hands-on cable splicing series. This module covers hand-taped splices and terminations. The course presents information on several types of cable splices (different specifications are examined). Different cable types, tools used in splicing, different insulation types and the various types of insulation shielding are covered. The importance of proper cable preparation is covered in detail. This module reviews many theory areas that will benefit all those doing medium voltage work and preparing those that will be taking the NCSCB written examination. All students attending the module I course will also receive a cable splicing tool kit worth $120.
