The Honda Civic has been completely redesigned for

2016, and the vehicle offers incredible fuel efficiency,

a powerful performance, and the standard and optional

features you want as far as technology, safety, and

comfort.

To help you choose which one is right for you, we’ve

put together this guide to the 2016 Honda Civic. Keep

reading to learn everything you need to know about the

2016 Civic today.

2016 Honda Civic ReviewThe 2016 Honda Civic offers an incredible base engine

but an even better turbocharged engine that’s both fuel

efficient and high powered compared to others in the

class. The vehicle’s advanced technology options for

entertainment, convenience, and safety makes it a high-

value purchase.

Inside the vehicle, you’ll enjoy a quiet, comfortable ride.

The interior’s high-quality materials and spacious cabin

design are perfect for toting around the whole crew.

The Civic also has loads of high-end features to choose

from, including the easy-to-use upgraded infotainment

system.

The vehicle’s drive quality is one of the best in the class,

with a high-powered engine, excellent handling,

and hands down the best ride quality in the class.

The vehicle’s affordable starting price point and overall

efficiency mean it’s both a great short- and long-term

investment.

Now that you know a little about the vehicle, let’s take

a closer look at all of the amazing features of the 2016

Honda Civic.

PerformanceAn aluminum-alloy inline four-cylinder 16-valve DOHC

i-VTEC multi-point injection engine that produces 158

horsepower and 138 lb-ft of torque powers the 2016

Honda Civic. This engine is paired with a standard six-

speed manual transmission or an available continuously

variable transmission. It’s also available with a turbo

direct injection engine that produces 174 horsepower

and 162 lb-ft of torque paired with a continuously

variable transmission.

Safety FeaturesThe 2016 Honda Civic offers a full suite of safety

features for you to choose from. The active safety

features that come standard are Vehicle Stability Assist

with Traction Control, an anti-lock braking system,

Electronic Brake Distribution, Brake Assist,

a tire pressure monitoring system, LED daytime running

lights, and a multi-angle rearview camera.

The vehicle also offers a full suite of additional safety

technology features and driver assist technology

features. These include a multi-angle rearview camera

with dynamic guidelines, Forward Collision Warning,

Lane Departure Warning, a Collision Mitigation Braking

System, and a Road Departure Mitigation System.

The available driver assist technology options are the

Lane Keeping Assist System, Adaptive Cruise Control

with Low-Speed Follow, and Honda LaneWatch.

Comfort and Convenience FeaturesThe 2016 Honda Civic, in addition to offering a powerful

engine and incredible performance, has a full suite of

comfort and convenience features that increase the

vehicle’s value significantly. The list of available features

includes cruise control, a leather-wrapped steering

wheel and shift knob, illuminated steering wheel–

mounted controls, an automatic climate control system,

and a dual-zone automatic climate control system. The

Civic also offers the Maintenance Minder system that

lets you know when your vehicle needs maintenance

and what services are needed.

The vehicle also offers adjustable front seat belt

anchors, adjustable head restraints, a fold-down

60/40 split rear seatback, heated front seats, heated

outboard rear seats, a driver’s seat with manual height

adjustment, a driver’s seat with eight-way power

adjustment, and a front passenger’s seat with four-way

power adjustment.

Entertainment Technology OptionIn terms of entertainment, the 2016 Honda Civic

is equipped with some great technology options.

The vehicle comes standard with a 160-watt audio

system with four speakers and a 5-inch color LCD

screen. This system comes with MP3/Windows Media

Audio playback capability, Bluetooth HandsFreeLink,

Bluetooth Streaming Audio, a radio data system, speed-

sensitive volume control, and a USB audio interface with

a 1-amp charging port in front.

The vehicle also offers a full suite of entertainment

options such as Pandora compatibility, an SMS text

message function, HondaLink, Apple CarPlay,

Google Android Auto, SiriusXM radio, HD Radio,

and a USB with charging port in center console and

front.

The system is available with a 7-inch display audio

with high-resolution WVGA display with electrostatic

touchscreen and customizable feature settings as well

as the Honda Satellite-Linked Navigation System with

voice recognition, Honda HD digital traffic, and

Song By Voice.

Design and StyleThe 2016 Honda Civic comes in two redesigned body

styles. The sedan is likely the look you’re most familiar

with since it’s similar to the Honda Accord. With a

sweeping roofline, a sporty rear, and a bold new front

end, the Civic’s new look is both sporty and luxurious.

The side body detailing is both aerodynamic and lends

itself to the vehicle’s incredible fuel economy, but it also

is just plain attractive. With the chrome detailing around

the vehicle, the Civic looks both high class and upscale

despite its affordable price point.

The soon-to-be-released Civic coupe is the two-door

model that’s both smaller and a tad sportier, in our

opinion. The missing second door from the side design

takes away some of the body detailing but keeps the

look sleek and modern. The vehicle’s overall design is

progressive and aerodynamic.

Inside the 2016 Civic are some of the best features in

the class. If you’re looking for an affordable vehicle,

you know that it can be a challenge to fit in all of the

features you want without sacrificing somewhere. But

with the 2016 Honda Civic, you really don’t have to.

Within easy reach, the center stack is accessible and

convenient while still being visually appealing. The light

chrome detailing we saw on the exterior moves to the

interior and gives the vehicle a sporty look without

being overwhelming. Overall, the 2016 Civic’s design

and style is well thought out and incredibly stylish.

Class ComparisonsThere are quite a few vehicles in the affordable small

car class that compare to the 2016 Honda Civic, and if

you’re looking at the Civic, you’re likely checking out

the competition as well. We want to help you with this,

so we’ve taken the time to put the 2016 Honda Civic

side by side some other vehicles in the class.

2016 Toyota Corolla

Offering considerably lower fuel economy, the 2016

Toyota Corolla isn’t one of the most efficient or

powerful sedans on the market, especially compared

to the 2016 Honda Civic. And with a small interior, the

2016 Corolla lacks the incredible cargo volume offered

by others in the class.

2016 Chevrolet Cruze

With a higher starting price and lower fuel economy,

the 2016 Chevrolet Cruze isn’t an efficient buy in

the short- or long-term. The vehicle’s underpowered

base engine is also a bit of a disappointment, only

producing 138 horsepower. Overall, the Cruze lacks the

standard features you’re looking for, such as automatic

climate control and a rearview camera, which is

surprising with the higher price tag.

While the vehicle’s cargo space is comparable to that

of the Civic, it can’t compare in terms of interior room,

where it has a full 3 inches less of passenger volume

than the 2016 Honda Civic.

2016 Ford Focus

The 2016 Ford Focus does offer an affordable starting

price point, but that price quickly increases once

you start adding features that are standard in the

competitor vehicles.

With fuel economy that still can’t compare to the 2016

Civic, the Focus not only isn’t very efficient but the

vehicle also really just isn’t high quality. The interior lets

in quite a bit of road noise, which is only made worse

by the low-quality interior materials.

In addition to being a great buy today, the 2016 Honda

Civic is an excellent investment. With a huge following

of fans, the Civic is a well-known vehicle around

the world. Offering excellent fuel economy, upscale

standard features, and an affordable price point, the
