You inC.—the BeSt You, firSt!Presented by Kris Palcho Thursday, March 109-11 a.m. Cost: $30 member, $40 non-memberWhat can aviation safety teach us about self-preservation? I’ll guide you through ten surefire ways to best care for the most important profession-al asset—yoU. Putting yourself first has long been viewed by society as

a negative. In reality, if you don’t care properly for yourself, you will have nothing left for your work, family, friends, co-workers, or community. This fun hands-on workshop applies aviation principles like load-shedding, preventive maintenance, and emergency checklists in a new way to enhance the continual care and feeding of yoU!

impoSter SYndrome: are You affliCted?Presented by Alisoun McCloughen, Dawn newman, Robin nolenThursday, March 102-4 p.m.Cost: $30 member, $40 non-member

Do you wrestle with feelings of self-doubt? Are you afraid that people will discover that you’re not really as capable as they think you are? Do you use self-limiting language? Do you give cred-it to luck, timing, or others for your accomplishments? If you answered yes to any of these ques-tions, you may be afflicted with Imposter Syndrome. Learn how to become more aware of these behaviors, reframe the conversation in your head and with others, embrace your strengths, and commit to a change that moves you forward. We invite you to engage in activities geared around this phenomenon with other conference attendees. We’ll review current research and feature interviews with women who will inspire you to change your mindset and develop strat-egies for becoming one of tomorrow’s confident, capable leaders.

aopa ruStY pilotS Seminarfriday, March 116-9 p.m.Cost: FreeLife may have gotten in the way, but the dream of flight can be yours again. Returning to the sky is not as difficult as

most rusty pilots think. We’re inviting you back in the cockpit and will help you get there. Come and participate in a free Rusty Pilots program with fellow lapsed pilots. We will help you under-stand what’s changed in aviation since you last took the controls and brush up on your aviation knowledge in airspace, weather, and regulations. This seminar is also a good review for student pilots who are currently in ground school.

aeroSpaCe eduCatorS workShopPresented by FAA AVSED TeamaViaTion for ToDay anD ToMorroWThursday, March 10 • 9 a.m.-noonWith a predicted shortage of skilled employees for the growing number of aerospace jobs it is important that we develop programs that inspire students to pursue aviation careers. Join us in this interactive workshop where we will share with attendees simple, hands-on activities that can be brought into the classroom to teach aviation STEM skills. During the workshop you will also hear from VIP guest speakers in the aerospace community, so mark your calendars and remember Aviation for Today and Tomorrow.

If there’s a girl in your life between the ages of 10 and 17, we have a fun-filled, action-packed day planned to intro-duce her to aviation—or expand her growing interest. The girls will be in the presence of amazing role models rang-ing from airline pilots to aircraft mechanics to aviation industry executives. They’ll learn how to read a sectional chart, go on a treasure hunt, learn the phonetic alphabet, fly a flight simulator, build an airport, use tools by making wire bracelets, and lots more hands-on activities.

A group lunch with a dynamic speaker is planned, fol-lowed by access to the exhibit hall to interact with compa-nies and organizations of interest to them. A college fair with representatives from aviation-oriented schools will be of interest to the older girls.

Help encourage the next generation of women in avia-tion by participating in Saturday’s Girls in Aviation Day nashville. The day’s activities are available for $10 per girl, including lunch. A parent or chaperone is encour-aged to attend and eat lunch for $10. Space is limited, so register today.

Visit www.Wai.org/events for a link to the registration form or call 937-839-4647.

Members are awarded one point for each year of WAI membership, plus two points for early conference registration, and one point for general conference registration.
