Pérez Brown Productions (PBP) “The Sharing Project” Company Description Pérez Brown Productions PBP and later “The Sharing Project” started 12+ years ago in the context of “VOCES”, the First Latino Book Fair and Conference on Education, Culture and Identity designed for teachers, students and parents. Mrs. Claudia Pérez Brown, its founder and CEO, created, and coordinated the partnership with the educational institutions that produced this event, being PBP one of the main producers of the VOCES” conference. Mrs. Pérez Brown has worked as bilingual producer, coordinator, project manager and project coordinator, educator and trainer, as well as cultural and educational producer, performer and cultural activist, for educational organizations, private business and institutions, non-profit, community based and direct service organizations, and at all levels; elementary and higher education institutions, in South-America Chile, North Africa Tunisia, Montréal and Charlevoix Quebec, Canada, Habana, Cuba, Bogota, Colombia, and in United States, more specific in Chicago and the Midwest for 20+ years. Mrs. Pérez Brown has written multiple culturally competent proposals and educational programs for the Latin, and other cultural and ethnic diverse background audiences; which have involved all aspects of the logistics and specific writings for each of these programs and events; program proposals, description of programs, job descriptions, internal and external logistical and informative documents, as well as the outreach, publicity and local media support of all related writings. Mrs. Pérez Brown has worked as bilingual cultural and educational producer, educator, trainer and technical-writer of diverse subjects such as; alternative health education for bilingual communities, HIV/AIDS prevention and basic health literacy for diverse populations such as; LGBT communities, chronic and first time drug users, ex-offenders and City benefits recipients, and adults and youth at risk, cultural competency, languages; Spanish, English and Portuguese, educational and prevention subjects for youth such as; a violence prevention sessions for 7 th graders, workforce development program for adults and young adult and immigrant women, and customer service, communication skills and cultural competency for front desk at public health settings personnel. She has produced, written the programs, implemented and coordinated multiple trainings and workshops for dozens of women of colors on topics of self-reliance and professional development, multiple prevention and public health educational training sessions for youth, young adults, and multiple workforce development workshops for a diverse population of immigrants, adults, and young adults, the LBGT community, and special needs and handicap communities. Mrs. Pérez Brown has a degree in communications, as well as multiple certifications and diplomas on a variety of educational topics from organizations such as MATEC (UIC), University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC), DePaul University, Illinois Coalition for Immigrants and Refugees, and so forth. Ms. Pérez Brown has an extensive background in music and languages both in South America Chile, and in United States. She is fluent and proficient in English, Spanish, and in Portuguese, and intermediate knowledge of French and Italian. Pérez Brown Productions PBP and later “The Sharing Project” started 12+ years ago in the context of “VOCES”, the First Latino Book Fair and Conference on Education, Culture and Identity designed for teachers, students and parents.

■ Between 2013 and 2015 Mrs. Pérez Brown created and produced 40 + bilingual community based educational Yoga Classes, and Alternative Health Workshops in partnership with a couple of several community based organizations; The State of the Government of Guanajuato in Chicago, and The Resurrection Project LA Casa Student Housing in Chicago, as well as a title one CPS (Chicago Public Schools) The Algonquin Elementary School in Rosemont, Illinois.

■ Between 2006 and 2011 Mrs. Pérez Brown was responsible for the coordination of three technology based educational and technical assistance programs; COMET, HIGH TECH Technical Assistance Project, and the HIRAS Educational Program, as well as outreaching, coordinating, implementing, training, and facilitating a technology based health literacy program (HIRAS) for four (4) different audiences for 400+ students per year.

■ Over 2002 and 2003 Mrs. Pérez Brown facilitated and co-produced two educational conferences for educators, parents, and children “VOCES” with more than six hundred participants between educators, presenters, students, parents, and volunteers per each conference. Four educational and cultural fundraising events with more than four hundred participants at each activity, and an average of $10,000 dollars in profit. ■ Between 2000 and 2007 Mrs. Pérez Brown produced multiple trainings and workshops for dozens of women of colors on topics of self-reliance and professional development, multiple prevention and public health educational training sessions for youth, young adults, and multiple workforce development workshops for a diverse population of immigrants.

■ In June of 2009 Mrs. Perez Brown was contracted by the Midwest Latino Research, Policy and

Training Center at the James Adams School of Social Service of the University of Illinois at Chicago (UIC) to coordinate, implement and teach a class on the subjects of; Communication, Conflict Management, and Cultural Competency and Cultural Diversity for 15 front desk and customer service representatives of Public Health clinics in the city of Chicago. This class was the first training of this kind for this professional and ethnically diverse student audience.

■ In May of 2010 Mrs. Pérez Brown performed; co- produced, and coordinated a benefit concert for the victims of the earthquake in Chile in collaborations with the General Consulate of Chile in Chicago, and the Old Town School of Folk Music, collecting a profit of more than $8,000, before an audience of more than 350 people.

■ Between September of 2008 and January 2009 Mrs. Pérez Brown produced two benefit concerts for the Haitian and Cuban communities in Chicago. She produced the musical program and coordinated the event of more than 40 musicians, dancers and percussionists. She also shared the stage with artists such as Chicago Symphony Orchestra principal cello John Sharp, Cuban bassist Victor Miranda, (Al DiMiola’s group) and renowned Haitian singer Carole Demesmin, collecting a profit of more than $10,000, before an audience of more than 350 people.

■ Between October of 2008 and January 2009 Mrs. Pérez Brown produced and released her third album entitled “These Past 7 Years” this new CD has been presented at various venues nationally and internationally. ■ Between 2006 and 2011 Mrs. Pérez Brown was the Bilingual Education and Technical Assistance Program Coordinator at the Rush University Medical Center - CORE Foundation an educational foundation, funded by State and Federal grants (Office of Minority Health) in Chicago, Illinois. She has implemented, facilitated, produced and coordinated all the logistic aspects of the CORE Foundation two main programs; COMET and HIGH TECH Technical Assistance program.

■ Mrs. Pérez Brown worked with bilingual and monolingual clients (English and/or Spanish) as well as with eight community based organizations in the west and south side of Chicago, through these main educational and technical assistance programs. ■ Mrs. Pérez Brown has been invited several times to participate as a presenter at the Annual Women Leadership Symposium sponsored by the Office of Women Affairs of the University of Illinois at Chicago (2003-2005) both presentations were centered on Women of Color and their ability for personal and professional development.

■ Mrs. Pérez Brown has also been invited to present her workshops at the “Strong Branches, Strong Roots 2004 Conference” sponsored by Prevention First Inc., funded by the Illinois Department of Human Services, and at the “2002 Latinos and Cancer Conference” sponsored by the Midwest Latino Health Research, Training and Policy Center at UIC among other institutions.

■ In 2003 and 2004 Mrs. Pérez Brown facilitated and coordinated the partnership between the Northeastern Illinois University, the hACE Bilingual Project, the Office of Language and Cultural Education at the Chicago Public Schools, the Center for Latino Research of DePaul University, through this multiple partnership Mrs. Pérez Brown coordinated and co-produced “VOCES” the First Latino Book Fair and Conference on Education, Culture and Identity designed for teachers, students and parents “VOCES”

■ Parallel to Mrs. Pérez Brown adult education trainings and productions, for the past 15+ years, and since 2012 and currently; she has worked, as a Pre-K and Kindergarten Religious Enrichment Program, coordinator and teacher, and implementing and coordinating the Infants and Toddlers Day-Care and Activity Room at RDM (Radha Madhav DhamTemple) in Austin Texas, twice a year. ■ From 2010 to 2015 Mrs. Pérez Brown worked developing, facilitating and implementing multiple bilingual trainings and activities for a diverse pre-K , Kindergarten, and after-school children audience (ages 3-12) at schools, churches and private homes, as well as for Infants and Toddlers ages 0 to 3 providing support and assistance to families and parents, through an On-Call and BUCA program (Back Up Care) part-time basis contract with the nationally established College of Nannies and Tutors agency, and sponsored by the national and internationally based Bright Horizons organization.

■ In 2005-2007 Mrs. Pérez Brown produced, performed, and worked as an educator with one of the most comprehensive and largest arts education organizations in the country and member of The International Performing Arts for Youth; the Urban Gateways Touring Performances Program. Under this program Ms. Pérez Brown produced more than 40 educational concerts and educational presentations for children ages 5 to 12 years old, teaching and performing at the large school system in the Chicago Metropolitan area. ■ In 2004 Mrs. Pérez Brown wrote the curricula, implemented, and facilitated a 5 weeks Latino-American music appreciation, vocal, and stage performance technique classes, at The Lozano Elementary School through the bilingual artist program at hACE – Chicago Teacher’s Center at Northeastern University, with two 5th grade classrooms students,(50 participants) ages 8 to 10 years old, ■ 2002 Mrs. Pérez Brown coordinated, wrote the curricula, facilitated, and created and implemented a partnership with the Chicago Little Village YMCA Gang Street Prevention Project, a Violence Prevention Program with seventh grade male students, ages 10 to 14 years old, and their parents on issues of; identity, the gender gap, stages of puberty, violence prevention, positive male role models, and personal accountability.

■ 2000 Mrs. Pérez Brown, coordinated and implemented a community education and Prevention (gang activity youth prevention program) dance and music program, with 7 community based agencies. Coordinating and implementing this 3 months event through a contract with the Association House of Chicago for children ages 12 to 16 years of age.

■ Mrs. Pérez Brown has produced an Annual Dance Festival, a cultural and educational initiative funded by the Association House of Chicago in partnership with 7 community based agencies covering the areas of Humboldt Park, Bucktown, and Wicker Park. Mrs. Pérez Brown coordinated these 7 agencies dance sites, hired and supervised more than 35 employees; youth worker (ages 12 to 16 years old) dance instructors, performing artists, and technical support staff. She produced and coordinated all logistics aspects of the stage production and performance. She also produced two educational videos and a program/book report of the event.

■ Mrs. Pérez Brown created the partnership between the International Latino Cultural Center and the Midwest Hispanic Health Coalition (2002) to produce and coordinate a fundraising activity and a panel discussion on a series of immigration films for the “Immigration Series” of the Latino Film Festival with the participation as key-note speaker of Congressman Luis Gutierrez, 7 Latino-American Film Makers and more than 500 guests and volunteers.
