OUTREACH TO THE NEEDY
When Saint Mark’s Parish began in 1999, we also began an outreach to the poor and needy in Greene County. This county is one of the poorest in the United States and is served by the Catholic Center of Concern.
GREENE COUNTY MONTHLY FOOD DRIVE provides items parish volunteers deliver for the Guadalupe Sisters to distribute.
CHRISTMAS ANGEL TREE offers 100 families with a Christmas dinner, gifts for their children and aid with the utility bills.
GREENE COUNTY SUMMER MISSION each June working with other parishes arranges to rehab trailers and homes in Greene County that the Sisters have selected. ***We are seeking a volunteer to help coordinate those who will be providing the lunches during the Mission week June 6-10, 2016. Different parishes and groups provide the food and serve it, but we need a COORDINATOR. If interested or want more information contact Sr. Terry at [email protected] or 205-980-1810 ext. 3.
