Want to know what's going on in Lakewood? Bryce Sylvester, Director of Planning
& Development for the City of LakewoodCity of LakewoodCity of LakewoodCity of Lakewood, will discuss recently completed
economic development projects, soon-to-be started projects, plus those that are
under consideration for the future. Find out why Lakewood continues to attract
tens of millions of dollars in economic development projects. This is always a
popular luncheon, so make reservations early!
This year's event will be held at one of the properties to be highlighted in Mr.
Sylvester's presentation: Roundstone Insurance (the former First Church of Christ

In my opinion, the television show Parks and Recreation (aka Parks and
Rec) is one of the most entertaining and well-written shows in the past
decade. Amy Poehler as Leslie Knope has truly become beloved in our
household but when faced with writing this month’s newsletter, the first
two characters I thought of were Tom and Donna and their annual out-
landish shopping trip day which they called “Treat Yo’ Self.” I believe this
same moniker applies when one is considering tickets for the Taste of
Lakewood. YOU should Treat Yo’ Self to VIP! Imagine a beautiful tent
which will shade you from the bright sun or shield you from rain drops
(however, Mother Nature owes us one after last year so it should NOT
rain!), tables to eat the delicious fare provided by our dozens of vendors, chairs at which you can sit and visit
with your tablemates and friends and…best of all, runners who will go and stand in line and get your food for
you! Contact the Chamber office today to get YOUR VIP tickets for the Taste of Lakewood on Sunday, June 11th!
It’s time to treat yo’ self! See you there!
