What We Do

Events and Concerts

Awards

Main Stage Productions for 2017-2018

The mission of the Littleton Town Hall Arts Center is to enrich the cultural, social, and educational life of the community through professionally produced live theatre, concerts, other cultural events and year-round educational programs for children and adults. 2017-18 marked our 36th Anniversary.

In the Heights (directed by Nick Sugar) Seussical the Musical (directed by Robert Wells) Peter and the Starcatcher (directed by Nick Sugar) Something’s Afoot (directed by Robert Wells) Sisters of Swing (directed by Nick Sugar) Ain’t Misbehavin’ (directed by Robert Wells)Attendance for all 127 performances this season totaled over 32,000 with over 3,100 attending Town Hall Arts Center for the first time this season. Preview performances of each main stage musical were attended by over 1,300 underprivileged individuals served by ArtReach, Above and Beyond, the Colorado Center for the Blind, Libby Bortz Assisted Living, Meals on Wheels, Shiloh House and volunteers of the Denver Zoo.

Our Concert and Events Series expanded yet again this past season and has become quite the draw for patrons with shows selling out and requests for more performances coming through on surveys. The Concert/Events Series in 2017-2018 consisted of:

Town Hall Arts Center received three nominations for the 2018 Henry Awards. Donna Kolpan Debreceni was nominated for Outstanding Musical Direction - In the Heights, Randy Chalmers was nominated for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Musical - Ain’t Misbehavin’, and Terri Fong was nominated for Outstanding Costume Design Tier 2 - Ain’t Misbehavin’.

Town Hall was also voted #5 Best Theatre in the Denver area and #3 Best Theatre Group by Denver’s A List - a listing of close to 10K businesses competing for best titles.

Town Hall Children’s Programming

Stanton Art Gallery

In the summer of 2018, 997 persons attended eight summer camp performances of the teens’ Once Upon a Mattress, and another 278 attended the two performances of Hamlet, the second production camp for our older students. An additional 298 persons attended our youngsters’ two performances of Wild, Wild Wildest West. Another 1,101 adults and children attended our eight holiday performances of A Participation Christmas Carol. The total audience for our youth performances in 2017-18 was 2674. We also held multiple sessions of our Actor’s Playground -- children’s theater workshop classes for ages 5 - 18 (9 summer sessions, 6 fall sessions, 8 winter/spring sessions) that served 343 students. Town Hall Arts Center’s Mark Stahlman Memorial Classes for students with disabilities and special needs served 60 students during 2017-2018.

The following local artists exhibited in our first floor Stanton Art Gallery during 2017-18 in seven shows: Street Sights featuring artists Lisa DiAmor and Elayne Moseley. Line and Tone: A Closer Look at the Creative Process of Illustration, featuring artwork by the following ACC Art & Design students: Cassandra Martinez, Christina Weed, Moises Fermin Pereira, Nick Frantz, Andrew Grulke. On Vacation with the Boys and Girls featured artist Don Hartman. See What Is Unseen: A creative selection of wall sculptures featured artists Deborah Howard, Mark Johnston and Kalliopi Monoyios. Divergent Divas featured artists Jennifer M. Collins, Teri McCans and Wendy Seebohar. The final show of the season was Past and Future Focus featuring artists Tony Lazzarri, David M. Parks and Karne.

What We Do

Our outreach program, Arts on the Move, took 71 performances and workshops to schools, day care centers, other venues or here at Town Hall Arts Center, reaching over 5,200 participants who could not have experienced our children’s theatre activities otherwise.
