• OPAL-RT’s small footprint in the U.S. currently consists of OPAL-RT Corporation:• 3 employees in Michigan: sales and on-site support for the automotive industry• 1 employee in California: executive director of U.S. technical services, research collaborations

• OPAL-RT is involved in funded projects from:• ARPA-E (NODES) • EERE (SuNLaMP, ENERGISE)• CEC (UC Irvine)• …

All the work related to these projects must be executed in the U.S.

OPAL-RT NEWS – R&D in the U.S.

Ravinder Venugopal, Ph.D.Executive Director, U.S. Technical Services

• OPAL-RT is looking at expanding its R&D footprint in the U.S., in order to successfully complete those projects and in order to apply on similar upcoming funding opportunities. Right now we are looking at a real-time simulation specialist/ field-application engineer in the San Francisco Bay Area and will be looking at a Ph.D. in the same field soon.

Page 10: 2017 Atlanta Regional User Seminar Introduction

• In October 2016, the Government of Canada announced an investment of up to $54 Million in Next-GenerationAircraft Technologies

• The consortium is led by Bombardier and includes Rolls-Royce, Thales, OPAL-RT, Quaternion Aerospace, FusiA, Liebherr, Axis and Microturbo (Safran). Knowledge institutions collaborating on the project include the University of Victoria, McGill University, Polytechnique Montréal, University of Toronto, and Ryerson University.

OPAL-RT NEWS – Next Gen Aircraft Technologies

• This project focuses on the development of next-generation aircraft technologies, such as state-of-the-art electric systems to replace traditional pneumatic and hydraulic systems. It will also involve replacing conventional mechanical flight controls with electronic interfaces that allow aircraft computers to perform tasks without pilot input.

• OPAL-RT has been hired to:• Phase 1: Provide a software-in-the-loop (SIL) real-time simulation platform for the aircraft electric system,

with capabilities to import supplier models• Phase 2: Provide a hardware-in-the-loop (HIL) platform for testing
