Dear Friends and Members:
As you know, Sokol Detroit is a multi-faceted organization, which has been providing unique
intergenerational programs for families throughout Metro-Detroit for over 150 years. As one of
Detroit's oldest non-profit organizations, its main focus is physical fitness for the family and the
education of our members and the public to the history and culture of the Czech and Slovak
people. In this way, we bring a diverse population together working toward the goal of an
educated mind in a healthy body building a strong, cohesive community.
This year Sokol Detroit is celebrating 50 years in our current location and our Dinner Dance
with the theme “A Walk in Time” will be held on Sunday, November 5nd. In our continuing
efforts to ensure our existence, we are again featuring the All Day Basket Raffle. We will pre-
sent a number of gift baskets of varying themes for raffle. As always, this event will be open
to the public allowing us to educate and share some aspects of our Czech customs, music
and traditional foods.
We would like to include YOU among our sponsors in this endeavor. We are asking for a cash
donation to help offset the cost to create the baskets. Sponsorship will be prominently indi-
cated in all advertising and the program. As always it is your generosity that is most appreci-
ated.
Your support will enable Sokol Detroit to continue providing the much needed social, physical
and cultural programs - which help bring families and friends together for a lifetime of activi-
ties.
Thank you in advance for your consideration. Please send your tax deductible donation
made out to SOKOL DETROIT to our Raffle Chairperson, Brigid Liska at:
33703 Macomb Avenue, Farmington, MI 48335
Brigid can be reached for any questions at 248.310.9983 or at [email protected].
Sincerely,
Renata Greene
