EDUCATIONAL SESSIONS

$3,000 PLENARY SESSION

Plenary sessions will be presented to all chapter leaders in a general assembly format. Speakers are to demonstrate and exhibit “Leadership-in-Action” by addressing themes selected by the NILA Education Committee. Themes for 2017 are centered on increasing STEM education engagement and access within and for the Hispanic community.

$2,500 ROTATIONAL WORKSHOPS

Rotational workshops will be presented to student chapter leaders on Thursday. The learning outcomes are that students: think, write and speak well in preparation for becoming leaders in the STEM workforce. Rotational sessions are 1 hour and 15 minutes in length and include both lecture and hands-on learning portions. The themes of the workshops will be provided by the NILA Education Committee. You will be asked to present in 4 consecutive time slots.

CASE STUDIES COMPETITION

Student chapter leaders will address current national challenges within and affecting the SHPE and Hispanic community. With collaboration and mentorship from company representatives, student chapter leaders will develop and present concrete approaches to address the challenge.
