stunning Christmas Windows and Displays.
medium to high. Christmas garlands complete the scene.
In the second window the story continues with the toys entering TY’s secret lab, which is where the secret ingredients are added. Movement attracts passers-by attention with shelving moving in and out and an elf balancing on a ladder. The next window sees the toys being picked by an extendable hand and moving them on to a conveyor belt.
Through a window a Christmas tree and shadows of elves moving give the impression of the toys journey moving outside.
The last window shows a traditional scene of Santa’s reindeers and a sleigh packed high with toys. Two animated life-size reindeers stand 1.2 metres tall with antlers and their heads moving back and forth. To complete this window is a beautiful snowy backdrop.

A mechanical display of elves working in Santa’s factory is showcased in the 2016 Hamleys windows.
The windows were designed, manufactured and delivered by Propability together with the Hamleys VM team and promise to entertain shoppers who are making the journey from Regent Street to Oxford Street. The display shows toys being made and through the use of mechanical animation the toys are sent on a journey from one window to the next. No detail is spared with light, colour and movement bringing the scenes to life with cogs spinning, dials turning, elves rotating and toys moving throughout.

Harvey NicholsLondon, UK
Luxury retailer Harvey Nichols has created a dramatic and theatrical Italian themed Christmas Window display in celebration of the brand’s winter campaign “Britalia” – Italy, curated by Harvey Nichols.
Taking inspiration from the famed renaissance architecture, the exterior of the store’s façade is adorned with marble columns synonymous with the cultural heritage of ancient Rome and a key material used in the recent refurbishment.
In the windows an elaborate stage set conjures up wonderment and Christmas magic with heavy draping crafted from reels of paper which echoes the theatrical stage sets of Italian Operas. Performing mannequins and a spectacular
staging, transporting viewers into another realm.
The lighting is tailored to create a different scene for day and night using special UV lighting. This transforms the windows, come
store’s Head of Visual Display Janet Wardley. By day the windows showcase a predominately white scheme with transparent baubles, white foam balls and marble effect columns. The background is created from 13,00kg of paper and is a clever play on paper theatrics. The animated mannequins are
and Italian fashion brands in an array of colours to ‘pop’ against the white backdrop. Come nightfall the windows transform and hidden layers and details become visible.
“It has been an exciting challenge to transform the store’s façade with marbled panels inspired by the Italian renascence architecture bringing Italy to our UK and Ireland sites this year. The use of lighting effects to create two different night and day displays highlights our iconic, playful and daring brand identity,
combinations of our global winter campaign “Britalia”.” Janet Wardley, Head of Visual Display.
