It’s been an exciting year for the Nesma group of companies. This issue of Nesma Insider welcomes 2018 with a highlight of some of
the achievements made in 2017 by the Nesma community.
Completed Projects
Nesma & Partners completed its work on the Camel Heritage project, sponsored by Saudi Aramco and located in Rumah, 150 km from Riyadh.
Nesma & Partners completed work on the Global Center for Combating Extremist Ideology in Riyadh.
Nesma Telecom & Technology completed a project in Business Process Modeling (BPM) using K2 as a platform for the Saudi Industrial Development Fund (SIDF) in Riyadh.
NDIGITEC’s premedia division completed a commercial film for IMG Worlds of Adventure in Dubai. Awarded Projects
Nesma Trading was awarded the Southern Area Power Reliability Enhancements project by Saudi Aramco valued at SAR 133 million.
Nesma Trading was assigned to replace the fire alarm and fire-fighting systems at Saudi Aramco communities through an In- Kingdom Lump Sum Turnkey IK-TSTK project valued at SAR 27 million. Nesma Trading’s Technical Systems Division was awarded the Advanced Research Computing Facility project by Saudi Aramco, located at Saudi Aramco in Dhahran and valued at SAR 94 million. Nesma Telecom & Technology signed a contract with the Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) to build four new 110/13.8KV substations in different areas of Jeddah.
Nesma Telecom & Technology signed its first contract with King Abdullah Economic City (KAEC) to build a special GSM tower with camouflaged cladding (mosaic).
Nesma Telecom & Technology was awarded an Engineering Procurement and Construction (EPC) contract to by MARAFIQ, the power and water utility company for Jubail and Yanbu.
Nesma & Partners was awarded a second phase of the Umm Wu’al Fluosilicic Acid (FSA) Treatment Project by MA’ADEN on an Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) basis.
Nesma Water & Energy was awarded the Industrial Valley Phase 3 Parcel C Infrastructure Works project, one of the largest infrastructure contracts offered by King Abdullah Economic City.

Nesma Electric was awarded its first high voltage underground cable project to link the Serafi Mall’s substation to the grid through Jeddah central BSP substation.
Nesma TATA Projects secured its first Engineering Procurement Construction (EPC) contract to construct a double-circuit 380 kV overhead transmission line for MARAFIQ.
A consortium made up of Nesma Holding and Transports Ciutat Comtal (TCC), a Spanish transport company, was awarded a contract for the operation and maintenance of Makkah Public Transportation Program (MPTP) buses, valued at SAR 3.1 billion.

NDIGITEC announced the opening of a new facility in Dubai Production City that offers complete spectrum of fabrication competency solutions ranging from digital signage, fit-out, turnkey, event podium, display and exhibition stands to complement its Premedia and Digital Printing competencies.
Nesma Airlines celebrated the launch of a new route from Riyadh to Sarajevo as well as a new domestic route between Hail city and Arar.
Nesmal Investment Egypt acquired a share of Cairo Nile Shuttle (CNS) company.
Jollibee Saudi Arabia celebrated the opening of its 13th branch in the Kingdom, located in the Baroom Center, Jeddah.
Mawaddah signed its first Hajj agreement with the Malaysian Hajj Commision for the accommodation of Malaysian pilgrims during 2017.
A strategic partnership between Nesma Holding, Saudi Aramco, and Alrahma Medical Society launched Qetan Tailoring & Embroidery Center to provide jobs for women with speech and hearing disabilities in the Eastern Province of Saudi Arabia.
Nesma Electric signed an agreement with Power Plus Cable Company to complete the company’s trading product portfolio of Nesma Electric’s trading division.

Nesma Holding sponsored the annual Jeddah Marathon, attended by thousands of Saudi and international athletes and running champions.
Nesma Holding was a sponsor of the Makkah Cultural Forum, organized by the Makkah Province Emirate to promote human development and affinity to place.

for Small and Medium Enterprise (IKTVA SME’s) 2017 Forum and Exhibition, held at Dhahran Expo Center in Dammam.
Created by Saudi Aramco, IKTVA brings the company closer to its key and strategic suppliers and provides a clearer path toward a better Saudi energy sector as envisioned by Saudi Vision 2030.
Nesma & Partners was one of 109 exhibitors who participated in IKTVA exhibition including Saudi Aramco, local and international companies, government agencies and service providers.
Nesma’s A46 organization designed Nesma & Partners’ booth in the exhibition with an interior design that reflects Nesma’s various significant projects along with a corporate video display.
IKTVA program was launched in December 2015 with an emphasis on three main objectives: double the percentage of locally-produced energy-related goods and services by 2021, export 30% of the total domestic energy goods and services produced in Saudi Arabia and create thousands of direct and in-direct jobs for Saudis across the growing industries.

Graduation of SafetyOfficers from Nesma High Training Institute
Nesma High Training Institute celebrated the graduation of its first batch of Safety Officers.
82 trainees celebrated their achievement in a graduation ceremony at Nesma High Training Institute building which included honoring 20 graduates who received an Occupational Safety & Hazard Administration (OSHA) certificate for preventing workplace safety and health hazards.
The graduation ceremony was attended by Company board members, shareholders, and VIP guests from Saudi Aramco, who highlighted the importance of creating job opportunities for the Saudi youth in support of the Saudi Arabian 2030 vision.
During a nine-month program, Nesma’s Safety Officers received training in job skills, English language, math, information technology, Health Safety and Environment (HSE) skills and work ethics.
Nesma High Training Institute was established in 2012 to provide training in areas such as construction, electrical, welding, pipefitting, scaffolding, HVAC, plumbing, painting, warehousing, rough carpentry and office management.

NT&T Sponsors SASG-2017
Nesma Telecom & Technology (NT&T) was a platinum sponsor at the 2017 Saudi Arabia Smart Grid and Renewable Energy (SASG-2017) exhibition.
52 international and local companies participated in the event, held for two days in Jeddah Hilton Hotel.
Key topics in the exhibition were international experiences and case studies in smart grid, renewable energy and hybrid solutions, women in power and energy management.
Nesma Holding Sponsors “Together for a Bright Tomorrow” Anti-Drug Campaign
“Together for a Bright Tomorrow” is the slogan of the anti-drug campaign sponsored by Nesma Holding and inaugurated by both Prince Mishaal bin Majid bin Abdulaziz, Governor of Jeddah, and the General Directorate of Narcotics Control.
“Together for a Bright Tomorrow” aims to raise awareness of the dangers of narcotic substances by conducting awareness programs in schools and universities. Additionally, it provides counseling services for families affected by harmful addiction.
NTC and MiSK Sign Learning Space Agreement
Nesma Training Center signed an agreement with MiSK Foundation to provide the learning space for the scholarship initiative program, Udacity Connect.
Udacity aims to develop the knowledge and skills needed to work in the technology field including mobile and web development, business analysis and programming for Saudis who are tech enthusiasts.
MiSK is a non-profit foundation owned by His Royal Highness, Prince Mohammed bin Salman Al Saud that cultivates learning and leadership for Saudi youth.

“Invitation to a Dialogue” at Nesma Art Gallery
In Honor of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal bin Sultan Al Saud, Nesma Art Gallery hosted “Invitation to a Dialogue”, a dual exhibition by Zuhair Tolah and Noura Al-Qahtani.
Commenting on the idea behind the exhibition, Al-Qahtani said, “When we close our eyes, we call memories and dreams, we observe the distance between our silence and a naive revealing.”
Additionally, Nesma Art Gallery recently welcomed students from Albait Alsaeed School to visit the gallery.
During their visit, the students were given a tour around the gallery and were provided with canvas and painting supplies where they expressed their own artistic talents.
Malaysia Umrah Pilgrims Travel on Nesma Airlines
More than 4000 Malaysian Umrah pilgrims traveled on Nesma Airlines’ Boeing 777 in 16 round-trip flights between Kuala Lumpur Airport and King Abdulaziz Airport in Jeddah. Nesma Airlines’ first trip from Kuala Lumpur was on November 23, 2017. The Airline will continue to transport the Malaysia pilgrims on three flights per week until the end of the Umrah season.
Nesma Havatek Conducts PPE Campaign
Nesma Havatek’s QHSE department conducted a Personal Protective Equipment ( PPE ) campaign and rescue drill at Fadhili Gas Plant work site to promote awareness about PPE usage and to conduct a confined space rescue drill.
Awards were distributed for employees who fulfilled strict site PPE requirements from the beginning of the project on site.
A Workshop for NW&E Managers
Nesma Water & Energy (NW&E) conducted a Lean Process workshop for its departmental heads and project managers. The main objective of the workshop, headed by NW&E CEO, Mahmoud Fallatah, was to educate attendees regarding the company’s procurement processes. The workshop included topics such as: Sourcing and services providers selection, payment process for suppliers and subcontractors, petty cash process and requirements, projects administrators and coordinators new rules and responsibilities.
