Sonor, one of the world’s leading drums and percussion manufacturers, today introduces two new limited One-Of-A-Kind 2017 Snare Drums, each with a stunning high gloss veneer. These snare drums represent Sonor´s ultimate craftsmanship. The drums are handmade in Sonor´s German factory. Sonor, proudly celebrating a tradition of over 140 years of excellence, is releasing its fourth issue of the Limited Edition One Of A Kind snare drums at Winter NAMM 2017. This year Sonor announces two new limited One-Of- A-Kind snare drums, the Bocote and Cocobolo, each with a stunning high gloss veneer. These snare drums represent Sonor´s ultimate craftsmanship. The drums are handmade in our German factory. “For each edition a certain tree is selected with the goal to only use the most exiting parts of the grain and set them to perfect vertical grain patterns. Vertical outside veneer grains have been introduced by Sonor in 1973 and are the company´s trademark ever since”, says Karl H. Menzel, managing director of Sonor. “All veneers are sourced at specialized suppliers in Germany, which guarantee that these trees come from environmentally friendly sources and are exported/ imported legally”. These limited drums are the top of the line of the Sonor snare program and honour the long tradition of exiting veneers and innovative instruments within the company's history. Each series features an extremely limited run of specially designed snare drums with spectacular natural grown veneers and new shell designs. The instrument´s badges highlight laser cut mallet shaped logos, made out of the same veneer that is used on the snares itself. Each One Of A Kind snare drum is delivered in a hard case, made to Sonor's specification.
