C A M P R O T A R Y ’ S G R O U P C A M PWhether using tents in the camping area or sleeping in the Shorian Lodge (sleeps 34), kids will enjoy daily outings and overnight stays at Camp Rotary. Group camp is limited to scouts and other organized youth groups. Fees and reservations required. The entrance to Camp Rotary is o� 29 Mile Road, 1.5 miles east of Kunstman Road.

E Q U E S T R I A N T R A I L SBeginning at the Camp Rotary staging area, enjoy 9.25 miles of trails that meander through woods, meadows and along the Clinton River. A release waiver and bridle tag is required. To obtain a tag, please contact the Farm Center O� ce. Pets and biking are prohibited on the trails.

F I S H I N GFish for bluegills at the Farm pond, or catch smallmouth bass, suckers or pan� sh along the banks of the North Branch of the Clinton River at the Historic Center, Farm Center, or Camp Rotary. A Michigan Fishing license is required.

N O R T H B R A N C H T R A I L SEnjoy over four miles of hiking, biking or running on our paved trails.

P E T SDogs and other pets are permitted in the park only when kept on a six foot (or less) leash. Pets are not permitted on the equestrian trails or in barns and buildings.

P I C N I C STables, grills, and shelters are located at the Farm Center and at Camp Rotary. Please register with the Park O� ce if you have a group of 50 people or more. Shelters can be reserved for a fee.

P L A Y G R O U N DThere is a large playground located at the Farm Center.

R E N T A L SB U I L D I N G SThe Historic Center’s gazebo is an ideal setting for weddings and other events and is available for rent.

The perfect setting for social events, Camp Rotary’s activity building and picnic pavilion are near the river and a wooded area. The activity building can host parties up to 120 persons. The picnic pavilion features tables and grills. For more information or reservations, please call the Wolcott Mill Park O� ce at 586-752-5932.

The Farm Center’s classroom is great for social events and holds up to 40 people.

The Wolcott Mill Metropark Farm Center provides � rst-hand experience of the sights, sounds, smells, and the feel of “life on the modern farm.” The farm features a varietyof domestic animals including chickens, ducks, turkeys, sheep, pigs, dairy cows, and draft horses.

Environmentally sound farming practices are followed at the Farm Center where demonstrations of modern farming techniques can be seen. Field crops and farm equipment are also on display.

D A I R Y B A R NThe dairy barn at the Farm Center was originally constructed in the early 1900s. Since then, it has been remodeled with modern equipment used in commercial dairy farming. As you walk through the lower level of the barn, you will see the bulk tank that holds the milk and a system of glass vacuum lines used to collect milk from the cows. Several di� erent types of dairy cattle can be seen at the farm.

P O I N T S O F I N T E R E S TWolcott Mill is the only known Michigan public farm that houses all six heritage breeds of dairy cow: Ayrshire, Brown Swiss, Guernsey, Jersey, Milking Short Horn, and Holstein. The farm features a wide variety of other animals including miniature and draft horses, multiple species of sheep and goats, and a large variety of farm fowl. There’s a greenhouse, gardens, and when available, a horse-drawn wagon ride through the crop � elds.

In its heyday, Wolcott Mill was known for its high-quality � our. Many of the large bakeries in the Detroit area, such as Acme Pie and Oven King Cookies, used � our milled here for their pastries and desserts.

The Historic Mill, listed on the National Register of Historic Places through the National Park Service, Department of Interior, is one of a few older grist mills remaining in Michigan. It’s what’s inside the mill that makes it even more unique: the original milling machinery is still in place.

Wolcott Mill feels like four metroparks in one. See a late-20th century working farm and step into the past at the 164-year-old Wolcott Mill. If you’re looking for a place to get together with friends and family, visit Camp Rotary. This 2,625-acre park is located along the banks of the North Branch of the Clinton River in Ray Township in north central Macomb County.
