Dear Friends of CNM,

Thanks for taking the time to browse through our 2018-19 Fact Book.

As our state�s largest community college, we are striving every day to help

each of our students achieve their educational and career goals while

producing a skilled workforce that helps our local economy grow and thrive.

We take great pride in serving students from all backgrounds, a critical role

that CNM embraces on behalf of our community. We serve a very diverse

student body, which includes many first-generation college students, recent

high school graduates transitioning to college, adult learners seeking to get

retrained for a new career, and students starting at CNM with plans to transfer

to a university.

For all of our students, we provide award-winning student support services

that are tailored to each individual. And for 55 years, we have remained

committed to keeping a CNM education affordable and accessible to all of

our community members.

We also work very closely with business, industry, and government agencies

in central New Mexico to ensure that we�re constantly updating our programs

or creating new ones to meet the workforce needs of our region�s economy.

About CNM

Central New Mexico Community College (CNM) has come a long way since opening as Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute (TVI) in 1965, when 150 students tookadvantage of the school�s vocational classes. In the 2018 Fall Term, more than 23,500 students were attending CNM , making it the largest community college in New Mexicoand the largest higher education institution in the state in terms of undergraduate enrollment.

In the 2018-19 academic year, 6,545 students graduated from CNM, earning 9,440 associate degrees and certificates. CNM offers 189 associate degree and certificate options in 90 fields of study, ranging from arts and sciences to the trades to healthcare programs. In 2018-19, the collegeoffered 1,205 unique courses and 7,337 course sections. Many CNM courses are transferrable to four-year public universities in New Mexico, providing students the opportunityto complete two years of bachelor�s degree coursework at CNM before transferring to a university, saving thousands of dollars. CNM�s tuition is about one-fifth the cost of publicuniversities in New Mexico.

The CNM District includes all of Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, and the villages of Corrales, Tijeras and Los Ranchos de Albuquerque. The District covers 1,325 square miles andhas an estimated population of 764,000. CNM Ingenuity, Inc. , was founded in 2014 under the New Mexico University Research Park and Economic Development Act. It offers non-credit, accelerated approaches toeducation and job training in key workforce areas, as well as wrap-around support for entrepreneurs and cooperative ventures that foster economic development and jobcreation in the region.

The CNM Foundation leverages private funding resources and opportunities to support CNM and its students. Since being established in 1992, the Foundation has distributedmore than 32,000 scholarship awards to students in need and more than $30 million to support CNM programs. The Foundation is committed to the principle that no studentshould be denied the opportunity for an education or vocational training due solely to a lack of financial resources. CNM also offers non-credit Adult Basic Education courses, which include classes that prepare students to pass the High School Equivalency Exam (HiSET/GED) and Englishas a Second Language courses for non-native speakers of English. CNM became a full-fledged community college in 1986, when the New Mexico Legislature authorized then-TVI to begin granting associate degrees. In 2006, the school�s namewas changed from Albuquerque Technical Vocational Institute to Central New Mexico Community College to better reflect the breadth of offerings and its service area.

CNM offers college-credit and non-credit, workforce training courses and programs at ninelocations. The locations include four multi-service campuses conveniently located in eachquadrant of Albuquerque, and one in Rio Rancho. CNM also offers programs at theAdvanced Technology Center and the Workforce Training Center in north Albuquerque, andthe STEMulus Center and FUSE Makerspace in downtown Albuquerque. CNM�s locationscover 304 acres with 1,844,632 square footage of building space. Since 2011, CNM�s three new buildings, as well as nine other

buildings that have undergone major renovations, have all earnedLeadership in Energy & Environmental Design (LEED) Gold orSilver certifications.

CNM Ingenuity, Inc., a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is the enterprise arm of Central New Mexico Community College (CNM). CNM Ingenuity supports an approach that provides accelerated educationand training opportunities in key workforce areas, wrap-around support for aspiring entrepreneurs, and cooperative ventures that foster economic development and job creation in the region.Its mission is to promote the public welfare and prosperity of the people of New Mexico and foster economic development within both the private and public sectors of the state.

New Mexico�s economy needs a more skilled workforce to help spur economic growth. Through training, innovation, and economic development, CNM Ingenuity is facilitating this by providingNew Mexicans with: � a new education environment that is skilling up the State�s existing workforce � new training opportunities for jobs in emerging fields � support for aspiring entrepreneurs to take their businesses to the next level Since being established in 2014 under the New Mexico Research Park Act, CNM Ingenuity has made tremendous progress on behalf of CNM and the local economy by embarking on ideasnever before accomplished in higher education. Entrepreneur and training programs include:

Deep Dive Coding: 10- to 12-week immersive, bootcamp-style trainings offered in fullstack web development; Java + Android software development; digital media design and production; datascience; and Internet of Things (IoT) coding and hardware design. More than 500 students have graduated from our Deep Dive Coding bootcamps since its inception in 2014.

FUSE Makerspace: a membership-based makerspace with high-tech equipment and software aimed at helping individuals and small businesses prototype new products and works of art,learn in a collaborative environment, and micro-manufacture products. Equipment is available for 3D printing, woodworking, metalworking, welding, screen printing, electronics, robotics, laserengraving, and more.

New Mexico IT Apprenticeship Program (NMITAP): creates a much-needed connection between skilled information technology (IT) students and education with the businesses creatinglearning opportunities in IT. NMITAP fosters apprenticeships in multiple career fields including Computer User Support Specialist, Network Support Technician, Applications Developer, CyberSecurity Support Technician, and Medical Coder.

Electric Lineworker Pre-Apprentice Program: introduces students to the fundamentals of basic electricity, proper pole climbing techniques, proper use and care of PPE, safe work practices,basic knowledge of the function of the power grid, and general knowledge necessary to prepare for a career in the electrical linework industry. Graduates receive their Class A CommercialDriver�s License.

ABQ CDL: provides fast-track and customizable training opportunities in commercial truck driving for Class A, Class B, and Passenger Endorsements. We are approved by the NM MVD toadminister the CDL Skills Exam for the Central New Mexico region.

ActivateNM: a hybrid pre-accelerator and incubator program for early stage tech startups looking to pilot and grow their business in New Mexico. We are committed to nurturing New Mexico�sentrepreneurial community and thus, promoting prosperity in our state.
